[#1] True Balanced vs. Single-ended 制式及adapter的選擇 1. 如果部機可以由頭(CD)到尾(power amp)行真平衡制式的話, 而我則用"XLR-to-RCA" adapter 在pre-amp 去 power-amp, 請問你們會否認為這是有點浪費了全平衡的製作? So the question is whether the conversion is done better with the external adapter or the internal input circuit. |

[#12] True Balanced vs. Single-ended 制式及adapter的選擇 用RCA一樣可以享受全平衡效果。只要將XLR輸出之1及3接橋橋後,輸出的訊號會有更大動態及寧靜度提高。如沒有金屬橋,可接上CADAS XLR/RCA轉插便可。至於RCA線可如常接在SlNGLE-END輸出口便可。 當然輸出器材是真平衡才可。 |

In case you may need to convert the balanced to RCA, I would suggest you may use a 1:2 or 1:4 interstage transformer. I use the Hammond 1:4 studio grade transformer with very good result. Using the Cardas XLR to RCA is NOT good at all. It only takes either the +ve or -ve signal for the XLR output. With use of interstage transformer, the +ve and -ve signal feed to the primary winding. The Hammond 1140-LN-D turn ratio is 1:4. https://www.mouser.ca/datasheet/2/177/1140-1389973.pdf When low impedance end of the transformer connects to the DAC/CD or preamp, the output impedance from the transformer would be 16 times of the input. This is perfectly OK because the input impedance of the preamp or even the power amp is rather high (25K~100K). This would be a perfect match. It is quite confusing regarding the impedance specified by the manufacturer of the transformer. This parameter is not applicable in real application most of the time.
