This feeds a Burr-Brown DF1700 8x-oversampling digital filter, which is identical to the popular NPC SM5813 chip. The DA-10's unique feature is its switchable DAC cards, which allow the user to select from among many DACs simply by plugging in different DAC cards made by Counterpoint. The currently available DACs are the multi-bit UltraAnalog D20400 and Analog Devices AD1862, along with the Crystal CS4328 Delta-sigma part and the Burr-Brown PCM69 hybrid DAC (a combination of multi-bit and 1-bit). Additional DAC cards will be available as new DACs are introduced. The DAC cards are about 4.5" by 2.5", except the UltraAnalog D20400, which is somewhat bigger. The UltraAnalog card sells for $995, the Analog Devices board costs $259, the CS4328 is $355, and the PCM69 costs $595 (footnote 1). I evaluated the UltraAnalog, Analog Devices, and Crystal boards. To accommodate this wide range of DAC technology, the DAC card sends a signal back to the digital filter telling it to put out either 18- or 20-bit data, depending on the card installed. | [#15] Counterpoint fans club Sa2 is a monster in a bad way. Terrible temper and highly unpredictable and unstable. The bias keeps shifting and the error red light in front will light up to remind you to "fix me". I have one and bought it years ago at around $4000. I have spent no less than $20000 to fix it multiple times. I think it serves me no more than 20 hours total all these years. It's noisy again the last time I hooked up. | [#18] Counterpoint fans club 我都係三十年前用SA2 + SA5.1 + SA4, 好快速，但SA2 very noisy when using MC cartridge, 我部SA2 算stable, 上手將調bais trim pot 換咗 如果你用Clear Audio MC 有0.8mV output, 你可以直接入SA5.1 high gain, 更通透 我經驗SA2 比Audio Research MCP33 MC head amp 更通透及更dynamic，SA2 噪音大但比好多原子粒head amp 更生猛通透，未用SA2亡前我用Mark Levinsom head amp 冇SA2靚声 Counterpoint SA4 声音了得，你會覺得counterpoint 胆仲通透過石机，但非常易出問題，佢8隻6LF6 bais 非常不穩定因為SA4用IC bais. 全机最失敗之設計, 我曾經相當錫对SA4, 但最後都因為穩定問題放棄 最後修改時間: 2022-03-24 23:48:34 |

| [#19] Counterpoint fans club i have 2 friend who used..SA2 in the past , and they recommend it to me since it is quite dynamic ,and not expensive at all ,as they know i always welcome some decent and not expensive MC stage.. they did not have the unlucky stability issue i am google -ing about the quality issue of SA2 haha thxxxxx |

| [#20] Counterpoint fans club Indeed sa2 is very dynamic... In a lot of ways counterpoint signature is dynamic. I ended up using mc cart + mc transformer and feed into 5.1 high gain phono.
