Should budget be a constrain then I strongly believe upgrading to 804 Diamond + X250.5 may give better result than upgrading to X250.8 but keeping existing 804S. The Diamond tweeter totally transforms the sound signature and performance of the old 800 Series with aluminium tweeters in my humble opinion. Please feel free to comment.

Declaration: I am currently using 804 Diamond with X250.5

To me the difference between 804 Diamond and Nautilus 804 is night and day. The diamond tweeters are really worth every penny paid! I'd have stronger preference to consider upgrading to 804 Diamond with a less expensive X.5 amp than using the same budget to go for a more expensive X.8 amp.

Again this is just my 2 cents.

I am using 804 Diamond and find X250.5 a good match. X250.5 is class A till 15W but I have not noticed the power meter of my X250.5 moves even playing at pretty high volume so it seldom operates at more than 15W for extended period.

I heard people commented that 804 Diamond is a bit easier to drive than your 804S. I previously used Nautilus 804 and know that it requires amps with high current capability (not necessarily high wattage) to drive. I think XA30.8 may be sufficient unless your listening environment is huge and you normally play at at very high volume. However to be on the safe side I would go for X150.8 instead.

Just my 2 cents.
