| [#5] 一個新手白痴問題 "為何許多人說膽機30W = 石機上百瓦?" The guy say this, is referring to the maximum sound level that can be produced before the system goes clipping and distorted. It is because tubes have natural "soft clip" when the drive is over their clipping level say 20%, tubes will compress and clip " softly " so that the distortion is maintained lowish. But once a SS amp reaches its clipping level, it produces very naughtly sounding odd harmonics. Do you know that NAD amps of the 80's has soft clipping feature? to let the amp be played just a bit louder if needed. |
