| [#5697] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user the best amp for LS3/5A is TL12.1. the best speaker for Leak TL12.1 is Tannoy. the best amp for Tannoy (high efficient Silver/Black) is SEDHT. the best tube for SEDHT is WE300B, WE205 tennis ball, single plate 6B4G, VT52, VT25, PX25, Globe 250, 71A..etc The best setup is electronic cross-over with 2 SEDHT amps. the best source is LP the best listening condition is the wife is not at home. |

| [#5702] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user No problem. For GZ we will need more than one day otherwise it will be quite stressful. By the way, I managed to get a cheap old solid state 3-way (Sony) electronic crossover for trial, and I try it on one speaker only and it sounded aweful. It is hard to believe how much sound degradation can be related to a small crossover unit!! I am now convinced on the importance of a well design crossover unit! and understanding why most people would stay with a good design passive crossover despite the many advantages offered by an active unit. I have a 2 way Heathkit xo-1 coming ($1600 inclusive air feight from USA), it may be better than the Sony unt. I hope! |

I must admit 12.1 do not stand out as much in my ALTEC horn system as it does with 3/5A set up. This is half the reason why I waited so long. But, considering it is a classic piece and it seems like a little bargin also, I can't resist anymore. |
