"My recent purchase TL12 Plus is acting up on me. when I first powered up for a short time, I measured voltage after teh filter cap (320 and 300V) not too bad compared with spec. 320 and 315V for 220V input. But, a lillte smoke appear below thge board, quickly turn off (shouldn'e be too much damage I hope)" Good news that you got new toy. Bad news that it smoked. Have been very careful, perhaps not enough! "Then power up with 75V to check teh rest. The filter cap voltage measured 140V (seems high for a 75 input) the voltage at EF86 Leg 1 - 86V (70 at 220 full supply) Leg 6 - 140V (145V at full supply) 12AT7 Leg 1 and Leg 6 at 120V or so (180 and 170 at FS) These voltages are extremely high at 75V ---------------------------------------------------- When the AC mains is set at a value lower than the spec, the drop in B+ voltage is not necessarily proportional to the drop. Note that there are factors, e.g. tubes at a lower filament supply voltage don't draw a lot current and thus the loading at the B+ is disproportionally reduced. You therefore see relatively high voltage at 75VAC. Similiarly, when the AC voltage is increased by 10%, the increase in plate current can be 20% or more due to other factors! "Next weekend is good." All I need is a beautiful rack which may not be for playing music. I am fine with next weekend. Any info you can get for me about the price range of hi fi racks in SZ - size 48"(W) x 18"(D) x 20"-22"(H)? r |

| [#5494] LEAK Club Rcwy I checked today at SZ. They don't seem to have Sound Mechanic brand, instead there are other brand. For a size similar to the A5 (one long bench at the top and four other compartmentsbelow in two levels) they are looking for $1800 RMB. I think you can bargain to get the unit for 1500, but it would be about 200 on top for shipping. (in the past, cost for SZ -- HK shipment door to door will be around 3 to 4 dollars per Kg, things have been steadily getting more expensive in the last 12 months). Just an idea for comparsion. Chi |
