The concepts are not the same. isolation trans is ok for power amp, 電源淨化器 will cut away the sudden up. diffcult to explain in details. pls do some research. |

I have been in this game for 20 years, tried many things. the closer to the sound source the more important it is, therefore, power filter (active or passive) is VERY important. In HK such a congested environment if you haven't use a PROPER power filter you don't actual know the potential of your system. I use an ACTIVE power supply device for many years, it is probably the last element I would replace. I use it to supply pre-amp (valve) and CD player. |

| [#18] power amp專用的電源淨化器, 信得過嗎? seem no such power regenrator for power amp yet. Usually, power amp is current hunger device, its drawn hugh current during big dynamic. If the power regenrator can't supply enough power instantly, you may feel the performance is forceless, just like car audio without high capacitor. Now, an isolation transformer is the only one choice. If your power amps' power comsumption is over 500 watt, you need 1KW OR 2KW isolation transformer to preserve much more power for the big dynamic. |

I have a hifi room in Kwai Hing as you will visit soon. Sometimes i find the sound very enegetic, full of good speed and good transient response, but sometimes i find the sound slow and boring. I am not sure if this is only an illusion, or just that i need to do some power treatment. Usually very late at night like 1am i find the sound amazingly good, but then during the day, the sounds seems to lack energy and dynamics. Nothing else has changed in my system. Is this just illusion? if not, is the power quality very "audible?" welborne |
