| [#1] Accuphase / Usher BE718 Question Hi all Ching I have a newbie question and hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance. I am currently using e350 to push a pair of Usher BE 718 Diamond. I notice the volume knob can best turn up to about 1/4 level. Above that level it is just too loud and uncomfortable. Unable to turn the volume knob to at least half really bothers me. Can someone explain to me. I have read a few reviews that suggest the 718 is power hungry. Is upgrading to e460 worth considering? And will the volume knob position be even less? Small listening area. Speakers 5 ft apart. Also 5 ft to the listening position. Speaker spec. | [#2] Accuphase / Usher BE718 Question I have listened to Be-718 on several occassions in Taipei & liked them very much. They are capable of creating a huge sound stage, bass was tuneful & fast too. Only problem is they really need a big space to perform best. Really don't think upgrading to e460 would solve your current problem of too much gain. Instead you should consider adding a pair of "In Line Attenuators" (just high quality resistor built into RCA plug), which will pad down the system gain by 10dB, hence allowing you to enjoy bigger range of e350's volumn control. http://www.rothwellaudioproducts.co.uk/html/attenuators.html |

| [#4] Accuphase / Usher BE718 Question Don't mention it, hope those In Line Attenuators won't affect your system's transparency. But considering their insignificant costs it's probably worth a try. Remember upgrading or pouring money doesn't always solve audiophile problem, happy listening : ) |
