| [#2] XAVIAN. speaker 同好會 I went to AV Xospital last Saturaday, watching if anything was worth buying. An old man was so inch...when I was looking at a Pioneer TV (I was not sure if it was a Kuro) and there was a pair of CHEAP Roger Floor Standing Speaker next to me. He shouted at me and said: Be careful of my speakers! Fuxk U la, did you know I am using a 0.2 Million pair speaker? If you were so care about your speakers, how come you did not put more space between stuff? My body still have nearly 6 inches from his speaker. I also own a HiFi Shop before, I know how to prevent damage. Why you did not ask me to be careful and not to hurt my body if the speaker fall down? Afterwards, I shutted up and walked away. AV Xospital, haha, you will never be able to earn $ 1.00 from me from now on. To be honest, before the above event, I did heard their speakers before and seems building quality was ok, but sound quality so-so. I prefer Proac over their speakers. |

| [#3] XAVIAN. speaker 同好會 Personally I don't know sv.40. I was in 2008 AV Show on 8.8.2008 and visited AV Hospital booths. I saw an Japanese brand item packed in boxes and then I asked a short guy whether I could test before making purchase for that item costing over HKD1,XXX. The answered was negative and the attitude was also another negative. So I decided to visit other booths. By the way, I did not yell at him. My question really is, why the short guy wants to do business while attitude is bad? Why bother to pay the exhibitor real money and participate and having bad attitude? I don't get it! Is he not getting along with Andy Lau's clone? |

For similar sum of $$, I will definitely go for better performed peers such as ProAc, AE, Harbeth, PMC or Triangle. Some bought Xavian in the past only because of its LOW price tags! |

| [#18] XAVIAN. speaker 同好會 持平... Every loudspeaker manufacturer has its own sonic signature. I am not referring to the characteristics of Xavian. ProAc may have its seductive mid vocal or female vocal. B&W has its sonic signature..and so is AE. Thiel is easily recognised for its American heritage...One can also easily spot the French "cream" of Triangle. Different audiophiles have different taste and that is why there are so many brand names. I am saying that the Xavian I once listened to could NOT even pass the basic test of being a high fidelity loudspeakers. It sounded gross overall. It's soundstage was strange and twisted. It could not faithfully reproduce mid-vocals. It's frequency distribution is far from flat. And dry sounding overall with poor harmonics. It's like some DIY loudspeakers I heard at Ap Liu Street, or others one can easily buy and build online. I am saying that back then Xavian did not even pass the entrance of the "hifi gate"! | [#19] XAVIAN. speaker 同好會 One more caveat. I also got the chance to listen to the latest ProAc...They sound much more linear with much better bass. Their mid-vocal also appears to be more linear with better harmonics...although some may say they might have lost some of the signature seductive female vocal or violin preference.... P.S.: I don't own any ProAc. |
