[#3] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! I would like to share my recent experience with the T-Amp. I received my unit a few days ago from the US and modded it by taking out the volume pot, hardwiring everything with 5N silver wire and replacing all of the stock inputs/speaker connectors with cheap but proper female banana and RCA plugs. I got a 220V -> 12V 2A transformer yesterday and connected the T-amp last night with my most efficient pair of speakers, a pair of Tannoy Reds. I used as input my Ampex tube pre-amp. Sounded very very big (i.e. a large soundstage), smooth and dynamic, although not as smooth detailed as I would have liked (notably, the ends of the notes ended quite aruptly/were not as long as compared to my other amps). Hopefully things will improve after run-in. I however am not complaining given the amount of time and money spent on this project and had fun doing the mods.

[#4] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! You need to break-in the T-amp for at least 50 hours. There are people on the internet driving Dynaudio monitors with the T-amp.

[#5] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! Yes, 50 hours, same as what I read in one of the reviews. I will be doing more listening over the weekend. Dynaudio monitors, no way! My T-amp even in its modded state had a relatively hard time driving my Spendors with sufficient dynamics/without distortion, that why I eventually connected them to my Tannoys.

[#8] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! Hi dp, I actually went straight to mod my T-amp and did not do any comparison beforehand, since I also kept a spare stock unit. I might be doing a comparison later, but given the limitation of the stock unit (the input and output connectors), it might not a straightforward a/b test with more than 1 variable. will be doing a comparison later. I will be posting my results.

[#14] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! Hi digitalstereo, Thanks for your information. This little amp is quite interesting. I am thinking to buy one as a TOY. Sadly, I do not do the modifications. Anyway, please let me know when you get your T-amp and share with us with your users' comments. Thanks.

[#16] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! digitalstereo, That's a very good price. I am in the US and I can buy the T-amp for US$20.00, but with shipping, it comes to over US$30.00!! So if the T-amp is shipped to HK, that's a good price. rickeymartin, Modding the T-amp maybe better, but just run the amp for over 50 hours and enjoy the sound quality.

[#17] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! Hi soundboy, What kind of speakers are good match with T-Amp ? Besides, from the picture, there is only one audio input jack instead of normal 2 RCA plugs. Should I do some modifications ??

[#18] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! rickymartin, Any speaker with 90 dB sensitivity and 8 ohms should be OK. Don't expect the T-amp to fill a big room with sound. No mod needed for the inputs. Just buy a left/right RCA to mini jack cable and you're done. You're connecting what to the T-amp? speaker cable should be 16 Gauge or smaller.

[#20] A cheap 'Giant-killer' Int Amp! No, not really. I have no mod skills at all, so I will try different things on it. But I don't think I will touch the inside of it.
