[#83] Rock & Roll 同好？  馬欣／Radiohead月形池 數位時代安魂曲 2016-08-07 23:59 聯合報 馬欣（樂評人） Radiohead「月形池」，獻給醒來仍是夢中夢的時代。 這次電台司令以老靈魂看待人們受控於電腦的失速與存在感焦慮，如數位時代的安魂曲，以科技創作來批判科技，如斯悲憫的執著，電台頭至今仍在我們前面，深情回望或目送著。 廣為人知的樂團電台司令（Radiohead），過了中年之後，又怎麼看這世界？這個陪伴許多年輕人長大的樂團，音樂不斷創新，從早期國歌「Creep」安慰了無數格格不入的人，到後來精準預言了接近未來海市蜃樓的專輯「Kid A」，他們一直走在時代前面，多首經典歌曲，安撫了人心，也批判了世道的迷失，而這張新專輯呢？過了初老的他們，在這世界一頭熱著迷於各種新玩具的當下，一向擁有智者眼界的他們，要呈現出什麼樣的作品，來獻給這個藉著玩物來逃避自己的世界？ 這張絕對不是5秒內抓住你注意力的專輯，我也不會強調這張是否能超越它們的前作，畢竟之前的太經典，但如果你仍愛他們智慧的靈光，以及骨子裡旁觀的冷靜調子，這張仍能提供你「登高望遠」的角度，其中「Daydreaming」如鑽進時空的蟲洞，所有的夢都可藉由開機實現的年代，哪一頭是清醒的？誰也不可得知，如蝶夢莊周，莊周可能早被虛擬化未可得知，這是個醒來仍是夢中夢的時代。 電台司令對人心與社會現實面從來能精準掌握，首發曲「Burn The Witch」，不只是鄉民批判，到處都是失控的正義，眾說鑠金的世界，我們恍然又回到了中世紀「獵女巫」的時代，以進擊的鼓點四方環繞，來形容群體道德亢奮，世界彷彿變大了，但藉滑鼠來丟石頭，讓人也無處可逃。「Decks Dark」以民謠帶出故事的質地，Thom的歌聲低迴出層層內心迷宮，這首歌呼應著名著「愛麗絲夢遊奇境」的世界，逃不出的現實夢境，如潮浪般拍打的刷弦，當今的人們在時代驟變的刀口上破關，「The Present Tense」以扭曲的呢喃聲線搭配簡約的配器，呈現如集體催眠的效果，忽遠忽近的，真實像天堂來的蜘蛛絲。 整張「月形池」，如專輯名「A Moon Shaped Pool」，陰晴圓缺，借光的亮面，彷彿在側寫現代人的心靈拼圖，它並不討喜，但整張專輯一口氣聽完，像是一個完整的寓言故事，「The Numbers」低迴深情回看過去，極其優美，「Desert Island Disk」以木吉他演繹出內在斑駁的光鮮世界，「True Love Waits」不同於他們過去的版本，此番是愛得千瘡百孔仍孤注一擲，這次他們以老靈魂看待人們受控於電腦的失速與存在感焦慮，如數位時代的安魂曲，以科技創作來批判科技，如斯悲憫的執著，電台頭至今仍在我們前面，深情回望或目送著。 http://udn.com/news/story/7341/1879666-%E9%A6%AC%E6%AC%A3%EF%BC%8FRadiohead%E6%9C%88%E5%BD%A2%E6%B1%A0-%E6%95%B8%E4%BD%8D%E6%99%82%E4%BB%A3%E5%AE%89%E9%AD%82%E6%9B%B2 Radiohead - Burn The Witch Radiohead - Daydreaming True Love Waits - Radiohead (lyrics) 最後修改時間: 2016-08-08 14:06:13 |

For those inquiring about (HOPELANDIC)? Vonlenska (Hopelandic) is the non-literal language that forms the unintelligible lyrics sung by the band on some songs, in particular by Jónsi. It is also commonly known by the English translation of its name, Hopelandic. It takes its name from "Von", a song on Sigur Rós's debut album Von where it was first used. However, not all Sigur Rós songs are in Hopelandic; many are sung in Icelandic. Vonlenska has no fixed syntax and differs from constructed languages that can be used for communication. It focuses entirely on the sounds of language; it lacks grammar, meaning, and even distinct words. Instead, it consists of emotive non-lexical vocables and phonemes; in effect, Vonlenska uses the melodic and rhythmic elements of singing without the conceptual content of language. In this way, it is similar to the use of scat singing in vocal jazz. The band's website describes it as "a form of gibberish vocals that fits to the music";it is similar in concept to the 'nonsense' language often used by Cocteau Twins singer Elizabeth Fraser in the 1980s and 1990s or by Icelandic singer Björk. Most of the syllable strings sung by Jónsi are repeated many times throughout each song, and in the case of ( ), throughout the whole album.
