| [#10] Subwoofer JL or Velodyn or? phil.ng C-Hing, AV amp 是Y記3060,電視是 Sharp 70寸旗艦4K. player是菲記9700,準備up去Oppo 203 or 先鋒或pan記4K的(在考慮中). sub是sunfire用了多年.中置及前置都是Energy,後置及前surround都是B&W VM1. Thanks, have a nice day! |

| [#11] Subwoofer JL or Velodyn or? base on yamaha av amp kk elac mk these are very easy to control . velodyne only the plus version was listenable but pricy . and also u need a sub eq for a reasonable sound.jl was a great/ punch sub for movie or fast song but hard for yamaha to control .u may try it if u do have 250feet area . |

KK=?may say the kk was the newest version of mk ,check this out http://www.hiendy.com/hififorum/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=27101 MK, what model? mk 250 350 5310 why Yamaha can't control JL well this question honestly i dont know how to answer but i do have experiences,with normal pre or av amp ,jl usually sound very fat n muddy.the whole house shake but still no punch at all . and as i knew the pre amp have to be at leaset over 40k to control it .story was totally different . thats a crazy sub with ecxellent speed with tight bass. if u really like jl , choose 10 inch -. i do have friends using 10 inch in 7xx feets that punch ok with cary pre amp . normally cary with jl was disaster. |

Sub 一定要run room tune 才用丶然後再run AV amp setup, 丶這樣大細聲才一至, 在香港冇room tune 多出事！某段大丶某段細，注波woo woo 聲 JL 去代理聴下丶都Set 得吾錯。平價sub 多數冇room tune. 大寸數去得低D丶易D、不用大聲 貴價sub 有分析力丶平sub 只有低音丶冇一個個note.,全連在一起 有room tune sub 個訉號先入room tune part, EQ 後才入build in amp, 不會直推 build in amp。不同 Hifi 就由 pre 直推 後級、多要ohm matching. Cary av pre 沒有像 Audyssey xt32 那麼多段的bass eq, Cary 只有極簡單的room eq, 也不是自己開發的software, 只是simple eq build in 在 dac chip. 可google 一下。 Setup Cary 很考功力 Cary 11/12 is a very good hifi av pre, 高分析力，sound processing 弱D From google search ＂Adjust everything MANUALLY, with a tape measure, and a RS SPL meter with an Audio Test disc. Adjust your sub with the Radio Shack SPL meter and fine-tune by ear. *The Auto Setup/Room EQ system (proprietary) in your Cary Cinema 12 surround processor is NO GOOD (buggy and misbehaving)! ...Cary even recommends that you don't use it. ＂ 他有少少錯，不是proprietary. So that we can avoid f112 or f113 in most cases . poeple like to buy bigger that they dont even have enough space and also the av amp was not able to perform the real jl should be sound . thats was the cause . people invest and focus too much on subwoofer .thats a bonus not main channel . which case have better sub performance. 1xk pre + 4x sub or 4x pre + 1x sub |

| [#19] Subwoofer JL or Velodyn or? on the second question about cary its a great cp ration av pre at that price range . i m not saying its bad .but it really cannot match jl sub nomatter u use external eq . may be u can use lots of accessory to tight it but the thing i m trying to tell was the control ability of the sub . try lexicon mc12hd and especially meridian g68 can did a super great job on jl.the bass was punch and tight . its totally another level of story. as i said elac or mk was easier to match n push the limit from normal japanese av amp .thats what i recommend . for my own reference,if jl cannot perform as a jl sound .its just a decoration after all . Boundary Gain Compression thing i did try as well but it does not affect the performance that much . if u interest to disscuss in ht ,u are welcome to call me and share together .i knew u have great passion on ht . its glad to meet u by the way . |
