Regarding diablo and burmester 082 integrated amp, diablo is not the class which can compare with burmester since burmester 082 is very 幼細高貴，線條清楚，背景寧靜，口型適中 and neutral. Also, though 082 only delivers 97W, its bass control is much better than diablo and even JF500 which claims to be 500W.

This is my impression when diablo and burmester 082, Goldmund 390.2 and jf 500 are matched with 805s speaker. Burmester wins these other int. amps a lot though it is the most expensive integrated amp. at 97W output.

from my understanding, bass control not only depends on damping factor, so no one can say the bass controlling power of a power amp with 1 watt output (damping factor=1000) is better than another power amp with 10 watt (but the damping factor is just below 100).
correct me if i'm wrong :p

Honestly, the bass performance of Burmester is much clean and clear, higher resoultion also!!
(if the speaker is easy to drive)

The comparsion between burmester 082 and diablo is not fair:

1. 082 is a 9XK class int amp while diablo is a 5Xk amp.
2. The damping factor of burmester 082 is 2,000 at 97W. For JF500, the damping is 1,000 at 500W. For diablo and goldmund, no spec can be obtained.
3. The comparsion is based on 805s. Diablo may match quite well with other speakers such as dyna.
Given the price difference, it is not surprisingly that Burmester wins.

Another interesting point of Burmester is that the model no. of Burmester stuff is made up of Year + month. eg. 082 represents year 08 + month 2 = model no = date of manufacture i.e. Feb 2008.

You may see many Burmester power amp models last for many years upon production eg. power amp 911, 956 - the models manufacturing for more than a decade.

Even so, i see some review 33 fans giving up my dream JF312 to buy these decade long burmester powr amp. After auditioning burmester amp, I become burmester fan too.

For Gryphon, I can't see such appeal to me though listening hi-fi is quite personal and subjective.

I am using 051, compare with similar price range, Diablo, the sound is much more clean & clear. Stage is wide and deep. However, if you are targeted on listerning vocal, diablo may be better as it can give you a sweet and high density mid range.

How much is 051?

For similar price ranges, diablo is 5xk, Goldmund 390.2 is 4xk while JF500 is 6Xk. I agree that both JF and diablo give warm sound but diablo doesn't match with 805s at all.

One interesting point is that 082 is true balanced int amp. while both JF500 and diablo are not true balanced.

I also audition Burmester diablo and Burmester 082 for the first time.

After comparing AB with burmester with Goldmund 390.2, diablo and JF500, i was poisioned by the overall performance of burmester and again change my amp immediately. I also never auditon boulder product. How about it?
