It is a bad idea. Firstly, if it rains suddenly, it can cause a disater. Secondly, sunlight causes a lot of problems. A simple rule is "keep your electrical appliance away from water and sunlight".

Yes, my equipment is about 4 ft from a window.

I am always a little bit worried during the rainy days and have to make sure that the window is closed tightly.

i also put my equipment on 雲石窗台, but i use rock wool fill in the wooden frame with 1inch thick mdf to block the window.
To solve the sun light and rainly problem.
Then made the room more slience.
