| [#2] Bryston User Club I'm a Bryston user. I've used 4B ST and BP 25. I have 14B ST now. 14B ST and 7B ST have the same design that is adopted for the later SST series. The "C" of the C series means consumer. The name is given for easier identification. |

Actually 14BST is a very good amp, I sold it because of my own mistake. To tell the truth, I was very satisfied with 4BSST - powerful but soft and musical. |

| [#6] Bryston User Club I've never compared different Bryston amps with the same power but different series. But I found that the ST are really softer and more musical than the SST whilst the SST are faster, more transparent and neutral than the ST. In terms of specs, the SST (including the 7B ST and 14B ST) are definitely better than the ST. Please note that the SST C are the same as the SST in performance. 14B ST is a great amp. It's very powerful that I believe it can drive nearly all the speakers in the market. As Bryston claims, all the Bryston amps in the same series are the same except for power. If one likes Bryston sound, only power should be considered for picking the right amp for oneself. Bryston is THE name rated highly both in the professional and consumer markets. If one needs more neutral sound with minimal noise and excellent damping factor, Bryston is one of the best choices. :) |

| [#12] Bryston User Club I have slightly different experience than MikeLee. As (was) a user of both the 14B-ST and 14B-SST. I found the 14B-SST was a completely improvement over 14B-ST (say, not much, 10-15% overall). Sonically, they are pretty much the same, the notable improvement were more transparent (less milky on the top), the treble more extended and resolved, basses were faster & tigher & well defined. I would say, overall, the 14B-SST is more sensitive on matching gears, they can be too revealing for weak/cheap Hi-Fi gears (CDP, cables, pre-amp, loudspeakers). In the correct set-up, 14B-SST will sound smooth & resolved & musical with same level of Softwares. A budget. Cheers. |

So our experiences are quite different... :P Although 14B ST has the SST design, it's different from 14B SST in terms of look and power. 14B SST is slightly more powerful than 14B ST. Correction: 6B ST, NOT 7B ST as written by me here before, also has SST design. |

| [#14] Bryston User Club Not really, as was an owner and a player, no need "audiocircle" (instead, I can find their improficiencies). The claimed power outputs for 14B-ST is 500W/8 Ohm, 14B-SST is 600W/8 Ohm. Actually, refer to both the factory tested data sheets (actual power, distortion, Signal Noise Ratio & .... shipped with each unit) - supposed you bought New unit than 2nd hand unit, they are identical, the 14B-ST put out more than 590 watts too, say 600W is O.K. (depends on line voltage). One of the main difference of 14B-SST, it use a more "silent" type of power transformers (two pcs) upon REAL users feedback (like us). FYI, the Actual story of about SST series (straight from Bryston) - 14B-ST is the (say, whole new design) FIRST unit from new design apart from existing "ST" series (so, you can find it's interiors almost 99.9% the same as 14B-SST). However, managements discovered the new design has quite huge difference (including power transformers, parts quality, some circuits designs / boards) from "ST" series, words in-simple, past / existing products CANNOT BE UPGRADED. So, they decided to name a new series as "SST", then, let customers know it's a whole new line of products, all 2B, 3B, 4B.... 9B-ST cannot be upgrade ! That's all. You can kept on believing Reviews on Web/Mags, no losts to me. Cheers. |
