| [#21] Bryston User Club Hey, thanks for your info, Actually I have auditioned 14B SST but do not find it better than 14B ST overall. The bass clarity of 14 BSST is worse than 14 B ST. Perhaps this is the drawback of high power amp. Even for Krell FPB600, it is still rough and bass booming. So, I need to hear some comments about the 14 B SST C, which is at the top of the series. |

| [#23] Bryston User Club If the C series is same as the SST series, they should be priced at the same level. But this is NOT the fact. I believe there must be some improvement in the C series, though it may be marginal. In the high end world, it can be very expensive to have "marginal" improvement. Even there is only chsnge in the cosmetics, even a change in chasis design or the internal layout will make a difference in the performance. I haven't yet seen a 14B SST C for auditioning. |

Anyone can price the same thing in different guises differently. I hope you can let us know their non-cosmetic difference (if any) soon. To me, the obvious cosmetic difference is not an improvement. I like the old bold tough look more. :P  |

Anyway, appearance is important in the so-called High End market. The equipment has to look luxurious and weighty in order to attract deep pockets. :P  |

| [#33] Bryston User Club 1000% agree with gallant hing! What gallant hing said reveals that he has golden ears and is a real user of Bryston 4B SST. I am telling you, I have used many many amps that are far more expensive than 4B SST but I am still surprised by the super quality of 4B SST, it can even beat some famous tube amps - actually I seldom tell this to others because it is just UNBELIEVABLE, if you have golden ears. |

How could one not be easily amazed? Also, don't forget their noise floor. Their specs are truly the result of brilliant design and engineering. No kidding! :) To be frank and not to be offensive to the other amp supporters, I think Bryston sounds closer to neutral and flatter than Mark Levinson and Krell. That's why I've said Bryston is good for people who look for neutral sound with flat response in the overall frequency spectrum.  |

No kidding! :) Definitely. Who else is offering a 10 years warranty and can still support a close to 20 years old product (I used to have a Bryston amp bought many years ago). Then again, they also designed their products to be used in professional applications, which require high reliability and long-lived products that can stand up to all kinds of abuse. ＞I think Bryston sounds closer to neutral and flatter than Mark Levinson and Krell. That's why I've said Bryston is good for people who look for neutral sound with flat response in the overall frequency spectrum. From what I gathered, the neutrality of Bryston products is the exact reason why they are not popular in HK (or received all kind of not-too-well-deserved criticisms). I found that many HK audiophiles actually preferred colored sound as evidence by their forever searching of cables to "tune" the sound of their system. |
