| [#1] 40k for music listening hi all, would like to take some advise here pls. I just been to B&W showroom, looking at PM1 with Marantz amp set, that cost $46k. If I just listen to classical and some pop song, living room is average size of around 300sq ft. any good recommendations pls? |

| [#8] 40k for music listening Don’t be scared by tube amp, it is nothing different from transistor amp. No special maintenance required. The tubes could last for at least 3 or 4 years. Of course if you want to upgrade the sound quality, you could replace them by higher quality tubes in the future. Tube amp won’t disappoint you for pop music except rock or dance music which might require more power, otherwise for simple Canto, PRC, Taiwan, English, Korean or J pop tube amp sounds as good as transistor amp. The Synthesis are beautifully built by hand in Italy and their size are compact, see the size 320 (W) *220 (D) *140 (H) mm for its higher model Flame which is the same as NIMIS. They also have different colours but I guess the shop usually have black and red. With only some 20W, it is a perfect match with the German Odeon Orfeo high efficiency horn loading speaker.  |
