1. Marantz 8B的火牛是有一個大火牛蓋把所有火牛蓋着，基本上110V改220V如果繞得好，從安全角度並無問題。不過如果繞得唔好會出現火牛過熱或火牛起震等問題。重Re-sale Value角度翻繞火牛的器材Re-sale Value較低，也較難出售。

如果說翻繞電源牛完全無影響是騙你，不過影響一定沒有翻繞輸出牛那麼大吧了。

若賣方無老點，就改番117v吧，費時你第時唔玩想放時要週圍找人把機還原。（*不過你都係問清楚Pilotrol大人有關舊馬八的版本疑問先啦）

其實從用家角度來說，能用低於市價價錢買台改了220v的美國機（改得妥當的話），也無不可。

我早兩年都平平地買了台改了做220v的老麥再生版275（機身寫住117v)，當放台大力士係屋企「看門口」。

FYI, early version of Marantz 8B with TP5 power trans doesn't have tip for 110V/220V...! However, small amount of very late period Marantz 8B with TP5C power trans do have tip for 110V/220V.

Ah Ming has mentioned in the Audiophile that some later 8B could be converted into 234V. I have seen the same said in the 8B manual if remembered correctly.

you can check the transformer lead , Marantz 8B are use "West Electric Wire" (cotton coating), If it use plastic wire something like UL1015 grade.....99% rewinded.

Think twice before you act! If like what the seller & pilotrol said, your 8B is a 220v/110v convertible version, then plugging it to mains 220v directly leaving out the 220/110v step down power transformer will made your 8B sound much better due to lower output impedance from the mains & getting rid of the unnecessary magnetic/EMI interference from the step down tranny.

Since you already have an appointment with the seller, why not let him show you that it's a real TP5C convertible & learn how to re-tap the primary.

FYI, there is no difficulty to classified TP5C and TP5. Since TP5 only has two input power cable in colour of black, but TP5C has 4 input power cable in Black/Yellow, Black/White, Black/Red and Black colour.
