| [#9] OPPO BDP83SE Hello Ming sir, for music, I have it hooked with a Taiwan's Audio Art preamp and then sun audio's 2a3 for power. Also hooked up with Opamp expert's DAC via coaxial as another option. Speakers are Triangle's Zays xs. For AV, waiting for the Onkyo's 807 to arrive with an extra pair of Mirage's OS3. | [#11] OPPO BDP83SE Problem! Help wanted! I hooked up the HDMI to the amp, the sound is there, then i hook up the component to the amp, no video. Then i hook up the component directly from the 83SE to TV, still no video. Unhooked the HDMI, still no video! Can't even assess the setup screen.....wonder what went wrong? | [#12] OPPO BDP83SE There are 3 things you may want to try: 1.Make sure there isn’t any disc in the player because a BD disc will disable the Component and composite output if HDMI is set under PRIMARY OUTPUT. 2.Make sure the Pure red light on the panel is not on. This Pure Audio function will turn off all the video. | [#14] OPPO BDP83SE HDMI and Component can't output at the same time, you have to choose either one in the setup menu ! Hook up your HDMI again, and select your prefer settings in the menu! Not quite sure: Menu can output in both HDMI and component ?? |

| [#17] OPPO BDP83SE letsrock, I think you can get both HDMI and component at the same time, but I haven't tested yet. I've only tested composite with HDMI output at the same time. For detail about the component output, please look at the Unofficial OPPO BDP-83 Frequently Asked Questions: http://watershade.net/wmcclain/BDP-83-faq.html#component-output One more thing, are you going to upgrade your TV in future? It will be a waste if you only use the component of the 83 because it bypassing VRS processing. Without VRS the video of 83 is the same as 80. 9 months ago, I was in the same situation as yours. Thus I think OPPO83SE can output either HDMI or Component only, but not both ! Can't check it again at the moment (out of town), will check it again when back to HK ! |
