I wonder what if you put springs under those screws.......Back to the original Lenco spring-float design.....

Or, complete static design all the way with no springs at all, even with the feet of the feet.

Decision, decision......?

put it this way...

if it is floated by those springs

1) floated at original mounting points ....... then the effect if any of your OAK or other plinth will be less
2) floated at somewhere else ..( i,e. me.. ) i try to get more effect from those material i am using, this is why,...i bolted the chassis to the top piece of wood.., and will tighten a bigger structure too ..

if it is not floated

u have 2 choices too..........

1) decouple it to chassis to the top surface, by using a spike or any pointy things on to the top of surface.
2) Lay flat

then u have further 2 to 4 choices more choices.haha ........., about hows the lenco sitting on a rack ...

1) hard spike - point to the rack
2) hard spike - point to the bottom of table
3) rubber feet
4) some sort of other coupling device , good outcome with another table ( from rmb 20 to 35 each ) ( i am using some finte elemente copy from taobao .. https://www.finite-elemente.eu/en/cera/ )

Haga,

Very nice suggestions.

In the past I had done spikes(pins that used to hold a head frame and anchor on the skull for brain or cervical spine surgery) and marbles under the plinth. Still came with better sound (to my ears only)when the whole plinth completely laid on the wooden plinth.

When I had the GL72 I actually changed the springs inside out. They are supposed to be inside and under the wooded plinth. I took them out and put them under the metal plinth directly. It allows more spring float movement and decoupling. It sounds re lively.

Most users in the Lencoheaven prefer solid and heavy plinth. They all claim the heavier and the better. Nonetheless, in Audio world there is no fixed rule.

Haha.. Today.. Playing around my 腎木 lenco haha while waiting another batch of wood...

When next batch of wood arrive.. Hope there will be less ridiculous bottom layers from the target stand.. Haha... But I like it.. Feel like I am doing soemthing... From more layers..

Visually.. I want to feel it is a flying... Floating music playing UFO in the air... ..

There will be a bottom lighting led... Haha... May be some sort of light blue.. Led... Pointing downward

Some fun.. While handlingany troubleshooting with China factory.. Issue.. Haha otherwise should go out for some fresh air.. Haha

Haha

i did that simple test and it is about less than 18 sec to rest..................by pulling off the plug.. but lazy to disable the braKE..HAHA

i suppose it justify a new shaft or bearing..etc..... , may be something which last 60 sec..haha or it is a dream ?

as after the pluged is pulled..... the idler and the motor..and the platter..etc..are all coupled

This is a more meaningful test to understand the condition of the shaft bearing... ... i hand spin it to about 83rpm and lets it to rest.. ..and it take about 142 sec to rest

It was used on Linn LP12 as well.

I don't particularly think there is anything wrong but obviously it needs oiling properly for sure.

Like everything there is always room for improvement so some CNC their own design with the whole bearing system.

I guess this is why it is so much fun to own a Pencil.

same test on a TD126 without the the belt attached

it take about 164sec to rest Vs Lenco at 142 ( from about 83rpm to 0)

and from about 33.3 rpm to 0

the td126: around 63 sec
the lenco : around 41 sec

I wrote the last message with my mobile phone and it changed a lot of words and I didn't notice until now!!

The original message should be:

"It was used on Linn LP12 as well.

His time from 33.3 to zero was 90 sec

My time.. Is about 40 sec... Haha

Which means.. I am a lazy lenco owner.. Haha

Seem Terry is less lazy Than me... Wonder how's the time from his lenco... Too

Hahaha

Freaking info to share.. There is an upgrade bearing kit.. At ukp 170...said to have 33 to zero testing... At fxxking... 7 mins... Omg... Hhaha

I better push my engineer.. For Making it for me.. Haha

My sharing over the Facebook lenco group, and some funny response from other too..
