[#202] Lenco Club de HONG KONG I wonder what if you put springs under those screws.......Back to the original Lenco spring-float design..... Or, complete static design all the way with no springs at all, even with the feet of the feet. Decision, decision......? |

[#203] Lenco Club de HONG KONG put it this way... if it is floated by those springs 1) floated at original mounting points ....... then the effect if any of your OAK or other plinth will be less 2) floated at somewhere else ..( i,e. me.. ) i try to get more effect from those material i am using, this is why,...i bolted the chassis to the top piece of wood.., and will tighten a bigger structure too .. if it is not floated u have 2 choices too.......... 1) decouple it to chassis to the top surface, by using a spike or any pointy things on to the top of surface. 2) Lay flat then u have further 2 to 4 choices more choices.haha ........., about hows the lenco sitting on a rack ... 1) hard spike - point to the rack 2) hard spike - point to the bottom of table 3) rubber feet 4) some sort of other coupling device , good outcome with another table ( from rmb 20 to 35 each ) ( i am using some finte elemente copy from taobao .. https://www.finite-elemente.eu/en/cera/ ) |

[#204] Lenco Club de HONG KONG Haga, Very nice suggestions. In the past I had done spikes(pins that used to hold a head frame and anchor on the skull for brain or cervical spine surgery) and marbles under the plinth. Still came with better sound (to my ears only)when the whole plinth completely laid on the wooden plinth. When I had the GL72 I actually changed the springs inside out. They are supposed to be inside and under the wooded plinth. I took them out and put them under the metal plinth directly. It allows more spring float movement and decoupling. It sounds re lively. Most users in the Lencoheaven prefer solid and heavy plinth. They all claim the heavier and the better. Nonetheless, in Audio world there is no fixed rule. |

[#210] Lenco Club de HONG KONG It was used on Linn LP12 as well. I don't particularly think there is anything wrong but obviously it needs oiling properly for sure. Like everything there is always room for improvement so some CNC their own design with the whole bearing system. I guess this is why it is so much fun to own a Pencil. |

[#212] Lenco Club de HONG KONG I wrote the last message with my mobile phone and it changed a lot of words and I didn't notice until now!! The original message should be: "It was used on Linn LP12 as well. I don't particularly think there is anything wrong with the orginal Lenco bearing system but obviously it needs oiling properly for sure. Like everything else there is always room for improvement so some Lenco users CNC their own design with the whole bearing system. I guess this is why it is so much fun to own a Lenco." |
