| [#9] What is your Jazz music having tonight ? I miss the Ben’s The Warm Mood in this rainy Saturday morning. During the searching process I saw in my small music collection the CD of Ella Fitzgerald, Thelonious Mook, Shirley Horn, Miles David, Ray Brown, Carol Kidd, Stan Getz, Duke Ellington, Johnny Hodges, Billy Holiday, Art Pepper, Bill Evan…WOW…Holly Cow… the as well as my beloved Three Blind Mice…etc! Most of the CDs and LP are not play for many years and poorly organized; I will spend some time to sort and store them in a better order. Headache…I am still unable to find the LP of The Warm Mood! Where is it?  |

| [#18] What is your Jazz music having tonight ? Here is one of my favorite album, Patrice Barber's Cafe Blue! Patrica Barber's excellent and emotive live performance during The du Maurier Atlantic Jazz Festival, July 24.1999, Holiday Inn Select, 1980 Robie Street, Halifax, NS, Canada! is still in my memory. Patrica sang so well, she played the piano with her bare foot, stepping on the floor and piano pedals...a real modern cool! The guitarist is one the most 肉緊 players I met. Unfortunately she did not allow any picture during the performance! Now is playing track no. 2 "A Taste of Honey" ...I am going to jump to track no. 7....the craze "Inch Worm" to give the woofers some heavy exercise! Cheers!  |

Had listened to the LP version of Dave Burbeck in my friend's place, I asked myself is that the same albumn I have but in CD version ??? It's just different , the atmosphere, density and bass.....I wish I had a turnable to play those 50S, 60s jazz..... happy listening !!! |

My small music collection has a narrow range of Jazz music because it is what I can touch to with my limited time and information. Due to my limited exposure to the jazz world, I naturally keep both CD and LP version for the Jazz music I like instead of to try more new album aggressively. I hope we can meet more Jazz lover in this thread to share our beloved Jazz music and enhance our understanding and interest about Jazz! Here is one popular Jazz album I got! Miles David’s Kind of Blue. I am listening track no. 1 “SO WHAT” I extracted some nice words from Rich Harknes of Stereo Times back to the year 2000’ as below: “My sweaty little fingers drop Miles' "So What" from into the CD player and I tiptoe back to my seat up to my first encounter with them… Whoa! Paul Chambers’ bass appears directly at the center, Bill Evan's piano floats in the vicinity of the left , but behind and beyond it in its own little alcove of reverb. Jimmy Cobb's ride cymbal inches into the mix. He's playing at whisper level Next, sax men Adderley and Coltrane enter. Each sax is richly differentiated, their sound being both present and vivid yet totally relaxed. When Miles finally enters with the amazing sound of his horn. It’s holographic at front and center, yet full, warm and shimmering with brassy harmonics!” Let’s JAZZ! SK Tung  |
