銅管 is not easy to find especially you need around 2" in diameter in order to cover the IEC plug, not very common but I managed to find a loose end and asked the shop to cut it for me. I use it for my CDP and Pre-amp with good result, the sound is more 3D and separation of instrument is better and as Kmg hing said, the vocal is mroe stand out.

Will try to get 2 more to put on my power amp and the power filter.

Hi bc,

I have to search for it because last time they only have a loose one which is around 6 inches long and I asked them to cut for me into 2 smaller pieces. I tried 6 hardware shops and only 1 has this pipe lying on the floor, I don't think they actually stock those, but the left over from their construction work or something, anyway will try if they still have.

我在本地的家用店買到2" 及1/2" 銅管多個。大的放在CD 的 pc 上，小的放在ＲＣＡ。背景靜了，多了丁點弱音。再放多幾個真是不濟，聲音變得呆滯。

用錫紙一試? 好提議。

也去買了一個紅铜環,2吋長/1.5吋闊,套一在絛PS audio 電源線個Wattgate female 電插上供電給那個integrated 膽機, 效果同幾位朋友十分接近,背景是明顯靜了,音塲是深了點,空間感多了,樂器聲整齊了,低頻緊了而少了豐滿感示"音樂味",有點像alman說的呆板.

相信用不同金屬套會有不同音色.紅铜環會加了點紅銅温暖的音色.於鋼琴聲尤其容易聽出.不過銅環要緊貼着機殼,互相接觸.在我的情况,銅環只可接觸到機後IEC插兩邊的鏍絲.

我前日試過,對摺再對摺共8層家用錫紙,可是聽不出分別.

另外,有些銅水喉,應該夠大罩住個尾插,可去五金鋪找到,不過賣親都斷尺計.

Very interesting and informative findings.

Shielding: I'm looking for opinions from brothers. For diyers, how about having the IEC cable end be covered with those flexible knitted mateljackets and have the jacket connected with the ground of the power cord? (something like the the jacket for SOMMER Stratos, if you know what I meant).

That come to my second question, if your power cord is properly shielded, would you still need the bass ring?

I know that Audioquest have high-end battery-powered shielding, however, I don't know how to diy.
