| [#1] 華景山莊 (wonderland villas) or 美孚新村 (Mei Foo) i am thinking of buying 華景山莊 or 美孚新村. are there any members living there? both estates have similiar land price but 美孚 is a lot order. in my mind, 華景 is very humid and traffic is not good. is that true? if yes, will this affect speakers and hi-fi gears very much? thanks in advance your kind comments. |

| [#2] 華景山莊 (wonderland villas) or 美孚新村 (Mei Foo) i can see that quite some R33 members are living in 美孚 but seldom heard in 華景. i audited a few flats in 美孚 weeks ago but could not find one fits me well. I am surprised to know that the "actual usable area" is only 75% and the space between each building is very "condensed". i was told that 華景 is having similiar price with 美孚 and it is younger in age and has good open view. my concerns are the traffic and the humidity - they are definitely no good for hi-fi fans. any members living there or have been living there can share their comments. thanks! |

For similar price as MF, WV living quality is so much better it's like The Peak (ok not that posh). Club house is kinda old but usable. Transportation....if u work in Central door to door is 30-40mins in the morning. Frequent green minibus to Lai Chi Kok/Tsuen Wan or Lai KIng. For Hi-Fi players - dehumidifiers are must have at WV... I have 3 and 7/24 on all the time during spring. Of course, MF is so much more convenient - but "fish and bear maw, u can't hv both" |

| [#5] 華景山莊 (wonderland villas) or 美孚新村 (Mei Foo) also, the utility ratio....for Block 18-21 are ard 85% as most of them are 6 units per floor, ard 75-78% for others as those are 2-4 units per floor only. mgt fee....expect ard 2$ per sq ft. But wht u pay is wht u get as they say.... |

For transportation & view, lower WV block 1a to 17 are better than upper WV block 18 to 22. You can save time and transportation if you live in MF. It depends what you need and want. |

| [#8] 華景山莊 (wonderland villas) or 美孚新村 (Mei Foo) thanks all c-hings for the kind advise. i am trying to get a bigger flat to live with wife, son and my dad. in the urban area, i think i can only afford MF or WV. transportation is important 'cos my dad is not a young guy. humidity is also a concern 'cos i have quite a lot of hi-fi greas, especially speakers. on the other hand, i really don't want to stay in an area too crowded and noisy. also, the frequent renovation work nearby is annoying. $2 per sq ft mgt fee is quite expansive. if i haven't remember wrong MF is charging $1 or $1.1. a 1000 sq st flat will need an additional $1000 per mth. are there any blocks and/or locations with less humidity problem? is that the higher the more humid? i will try arranging a visit to WV next week to audit the real environment and share my feeling with you all. thanks again for all your valuable experience. |

| [#9] 華景山莊 (wonderland villas) or 美孚新村 (Mei Foo) I never been WV but it comes to my mind it is always too humid too see..especially in Spring time I have my friend recently moved in to MF and with renovation.. in MF you need to get a flat over 1,500 sq ft in order have a square or retangle living room to build up your hi-fi area....below that....just waste of time !! of course, for convenience...traffic, marketing, big recreational area...it must be MF ! hope this help. |

WV wins on living environment and i am sure my wife and my son will love it. my dad, on the other hand, may consider transportation and humidity a problem. i think it will better for me to pay a visit to WV next week to 'feel' it personally before making the answer.... thanks again for all your kind advise and comments. you guys/gals are really helpful and nice!! happy listening and living! |
