My speculation: Firewire transmission should have the lowest jitter but the low-priced Focusrite Saffire firewire to SPDIF converter may introduce jitter & noise so a BigBen downstream can treat these problems and give rise to significant sonic improvement. |

| [#69] moon750d vs wyred4sound dac2 vs dac202 vs mcd500 Go and audition yourself before you make your purchase decision. Comments in Audiogon or Head-fi is only good for a reference. Wyred4sound dac2 is a very good DAC at its price point. Antelop Zodiac is just too digital, cannot compare even with Weiss DAC2. dblabs Tranquility dac is a NOS DAC. There are a lot of other choices for NOS DAC. For user with no experience in NOS DAC, at least they need to understand that NOS DAC cannot fully utilize the HD music source; i.e. 24/96 & 24/192. I am still using a very very good NOS DAC, 47 Lab Gemini. A nice implemention NOS has its advantage but when it comes to HD music source ..... there is a difference. Calyx dac looks very cool. Will have an audition when it arrives Hong Kong. |
