| [#17] AudioResearch 同好會 SP10 and SP11 very picky on tubes. Some tubes just sound noisy and microphonic when used with these two models but not in others. Suggest that you take the preamp to the seller and test the tubes in it, if he allows you. I use Hal-O tube rings on the front pairs on the line section and phono section of SP 10 and this gets rid of (shoulde say greatly reduced) the microphone effect. Good luck in replacing tubes in your SP11. |

| [#18] AudioResearch 同好會 seamonster, I think very few tube seller will allows you put the tubes in another amp other than his unless you fully paid. A proven performer such as Siemens 70's NOS with properly test in a valve tester should be very safe. |

| [#23] AudioResearch 同好會 The only issue with ARC amps is too problematic, perhaps the design drive too hard, a good friend of me is doing most ARC repairs/services in this region and I see big ARC amps in and out his workshop ! That terrifies me, I won't run ARC amp without him around though. |

| [#24] AudioResearch 同好會 I can totally agree with stephil2004 that ARC stuffs are troublesome. Actually, too many users swap lousy tubes on their ARC components. I am sure the problem will not happen if they all use original ARC tubes and don't modify the electronics. Don't buy it if you dislike its original design. NO MODIFICATION and ORIGIN TUBES. |
