| [#6] Linn DS 同好會 Hi jj4044 Ching, 之前我系用 Majik ds 的, 初初系天下聽完一試難忘, 而且覺得很方便, 跟住上了代理再比較 Majik 同 Akurate, 覺得差別約有30%, 但外觀一樣, 價錢卻差一倍.. 所以也買了 Majik 等了差不多半年, 見到出左 Akurate mk2 新外形十分吸引, 於是立即講入, 初開聲悶窄, 但煲左200hr後已完全進入佳景, 收放自如, 十分之靜和闊, 沒音染, 比舊版 Akurate 多了10%進步, 但相比同價位CD機音色會比較平凡, 可用線材來較味 我依家用左 Ruby Hill 2 比電佢, 夾 MBL AMP+Speaker, 我覺得保留到MBL味而又有不錯的音場和分析力 |

| [#8] Linn DS 同好會 Hi C Hing, Just bought an akurate DS for a week. Playing CD format does not impress me yet. Playing 192/24 is very good, expecially the image. It is so different comparing to my Meridian CD player. Meridian sounds a bit more comfortable that is important to me. Any advice? |

| [#9] Linn DS 同好會 what kind of format you rip from the cd? which rip software are you using? wav and flac's style are totally different Different lan cable could provide differnet sound Cat5 cable will be warmer than Cat6 and did you upgraded to latest firmware yet? | [#10] Linn DS 同好會 Hi spiwel, Thanks for the respnse. I guess CD format (red book) must be 44.1k/16bit. I store them onto both formats, WAV and FLAC. I use dBpowerAmp to rip CDs. The firmware is latest. It suprises me if there is different (warmer?) between CAT5 and CAT6 in the application for LINN DS. CAT5 is supposed only being used for FE while CAT6 suitable for GE. I use CAT5 anyway. To my best understanding, FLAC (lossless compression) is a compression way that may reserve the data of WAV format while providing the advantage of occupying less data space. I use both WAV and FLAC anyway. ... (form your post) Meridian cd player will up scale 16 to 24 But DS wont do that, thats why you have such feelings ... In this case, I should not use 44.1k/16 for DS if you are right? |

| [#11] Linn DS 同好會 Sure you can use 44.1 files with DS, Why not? But compare to CD Players(with up scale), it may not good enough (For most of people). DS's advantage is 24bit flac files. |

| [#18] Linn DS 同好會 To EDN hing: For ripping SACD, first you need a PS3 that capable to rip SACD, follow this link for details: http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/showthread.php/36026-SACD-DFF-file-extraction-backups Afterward, you can rip the SACD DSD layer as DFF (audio track) or ISO (SACD Image) format. You may also need some third party tools to convert DFF / ISO to WAV / FLAC if you want, or stream the whole ISO thru FOOBAR with SACD decode + Upnp plugin. |
