| [#2] Weiss Medea+ vs MSB Platinum DAC IV hi dominque hing, sorry, i read the post but it did not mention about the about msb dac iv. may I ask where is it? do you know any ching have the Medea+ ? may be we can gater a gaterhing at my place for comparing weiss and MSB DAC IV . actually I am using DATA IV as transport and mainly use PC and Mac for 24/192 and 24/384 wav files playing. if any ching would like to join the gathering , we can prepare a song list(female/male,Orchestra, Quartet etc). and compare. cheers! blau |

That is my Medea+. It is upgrade from a Medea. Wow, I think that will be a great party. I never AB listening between MSB DAC IV and Medea+. Will PM my personal contact and let's discuss and work out a date. Looking forward to see you soon. Dominique Before I confirmed with Medea+, I only manage to listen MSB DAC IV once @ 上瑞(Taiwan) and Medea+ once @ Weiss Asia (HK). Both DAC are state-of-art, it is a matter of personal taste to choice which DAC. HH, the blogger, has a very similar taste with me. We are both huge 47 Lab Fans .... :-). |

I just google 高醫師 and MSB and find the following link: http://www.myav.com.tw/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=20446061&pagenumber=0 and confirmed 高醫師 is using MSB DAC IV (seems Diamond Power base, not confirm). | [#5] Weiss Medea+ vs MSB Platinum DAC IV *事隔半月，前幾天竟然又聽到了更切合我胃口的 Avantgarde 系統。這是香港網兄 DomDom 的 Avantgarde Uno，那天他的 47 Lab 旗艦轉盤 PiTracer 不在，恰好也用電腦訊源來播放。DomDom 兄用的是平常的 Apple MacBook Pro，裝載播放軟體 Armarra，再透過 Weiss INT203 將 firewire 轉成 SPDIF，送入 Weiss 頂級 DAC MEDEA+。至於擴大機，當然是 47 Labs 的 Gaincard。 * I guess * cas + int203 + spdif feeding Medea + better than cas direct feeding medea + |

Chester hing, are you interest to join? dominque hing, I read the post of his sharing on Diamond DAC IV. actually, the differnet of diamond iv and signature iv is NOT really that much , just very little. I got the USB2 (384) input, you can test the 2L 24/384 files with Weiss & MSB at the same time. Cheers! Blau |

| [#11] Weiss Medea+ vs MSB Platinum DAC IV I suggest the Weiss owner bring along his portable computer and the interface if necessary. Ben's preamp last time only has 1 input. Another preamp or line drive that has two inputs will enable switching between the two sources without the need for any plugging and unplugging. The same track should be played by the two computers, one passage by one of them and the same passage immediately by the other (by AB switching). This will facilitate immediate comparison whereas plugging and unplugging may only reveal the differences out of lagged memory. |

| [#12] Weiss Medea+ vs MSB Platinum DAC IV People need to understand that it is very difficult to judge which device is better when they are in the same class ........ it is simply the owner / user personal preference. 高醫師 & Blau hing prefer the MSB IV. HH & myself prefer the Medea+. I will never make the judgment that anyone is a better DAC since they are in the same class. Blau hing, if you have time, you can join us the gathering on Sep 26, though the focus of that evening will be the pre-Amp, MFA Reference. |
