| [#21] Onkyo 5009 贏左 Pioneer LX-90 I think we should be fair to the AV amp manufacturers. Speakers with both low impedence (4ohm) + low input sensitivities(＜89db) could be demanding to AV amp. Just a rule of thumb that 3db drop in input sensitivity implies roughly double amplifier power to produce similar sound level. I am using Vienna Accoustic Maestro Grand (Centre), and Waltz Grand (rear channels). | [#18] Onkyo 5009 贏左 Pioneer LX-90 To push 4ohm without burning ur Onkyo amp, u need to apply setup in screen menu. But in bi-amp / bridge mode, 4 ohm is not supported. Anyway, I tried to use 5009 to push a small Dyna 4 ohm bookselves. Yes the amp is not burnt, but the quality is far below expectation. Ghost power amp is highly recommended for those 4ohm users. |

| [#17] Onkyo 5009 贏左 Pioneer LX-90 I am also an Onkyo AV amp owner (not the latest model) I admit Onkyo top AV amp is quite generous on the power supply and the amplifier section. Yet it probably does not want to guarantee 4-ohm performances. Kindly note that 4 ohm nominal impedence implies that at some frequencies the input impedence can drop below 4 ohm. i.e. I believe there is still possibilities to activate the protection circuits. Of course, there are other dependencies, such as the room size, listening volume, the speakers' input sensitivity etc... |

| [#15] Onkyo 5009 贏左 Pioneer LX-90 I tried to use LX-82 to drive Dyna focus 110 and Focus centre, the amp self shutdown when some high level voice scene appear and I have phone Pioneer and ask for the reason, they ask me to see the manual and then say that the manual already said that it only guarantee for 6 - 8 ohm speakers, 4 ohm is dangerous, may burn down the speakers or the amp, ask me not to use it. So, I ask why not printing in the manual saying that not support 4 ohm speakers as it may burn down the speakers, then they told me that "there are so many speakers even have 2 ohms, we can't specified all of them". What a Fxxx! |

| [#14] Onkyo 5009 贏左 Pioneer LX-90 insane hing, I have never seen a Japanese AV amp can push any 4ohm Dynaudio at her desired quality (even Japanese Pre/Power combo). Currently I use Onkyo 906 as AV pre only and only push one Sonus Faber Center. For L/R and rear channel I use separated Krell power amp. |
