| [#15] ZYX 唱頭同好會 Compare with the Shelter flagship model "Harmony", R1000 is really not bad especially the 3D reproduction. Dun forget the Harmony is 2 times expensive than R1000. To sum up, R1000 is good at 10 to 15k range. |

They sound very different in all aspect, but if someone want to have higher resolution and details with mellow sounding, ZYX would be the choice, if someone prefer more punchy bass and care less for the overall details, Denon is still an enjoyable cartridge....... |

| [#29] ZYX 唱頭同好會 I have a few 103/103pro/103r and Soundsmith upgraded 103 and 103r(boron cantilever/ruby cantilever, line contact diamond), I have modified my 103 with aluminium body/wooden body/open body with wood back plate/stone(孔雀石). I found the 103 character is mid oriented and great for vocal, pop and good for rock(compared to ZYX) My observation on my ZYX (Airy one and two) is that they emphasis on details and airy feel, speed and dynamic, however, mid range and bass is good but not impressive. Therefore they tend to be better on classical and jazz trio in my system (to my taste) The higher grade Omega is much more balanced and great for High/mid/low. It is great for all kind of music, but the vocal is still a bit less solid than the modified103. |

Since you two have had used both ZYX and Denon 103, I would appreciate if you could cast some more light on the tonearm(s) that you use to pair with ZYX and/or Denon. I have these two MC cartridges for many years already, without installing them to work because I had a very disappointing experience before with MC head. Now I have two DUAL turntables (they work well with MM heads) and these two MC heads. Just wonder if I could install ZYX to try on DUAL if it has lesser mass, or close to MM? In that case, whether or not my Denon step-up transformer could work happily with ZYX? I know the impedance data could be found in the internet.
