For your budget, there is Meridian combo of 568.2/598 in second hand market which I highly recommend to any serious audiophile for music and video enjoyment. This particular combo of transport/dac has the ability to rival the well famed Meridian 808 cdp with the added features of playing DVD-A in 24/192 resolution. If you love huge dynamic, then DVD-A provide at least 40db more than the CD format in musical passage which not many speakers can handle ! The 568.2 also got AD/DA that can transform the analog signal into digital domain which benefit you for future CAS usage.
