| [#10] Cheap turntable appreciation haha funny thing to share about that JVC TT71 the photo ..it is the Export Version ...cover 100 to 240 V operation the i also had a Japanese 100V version ... and the Japanese version - the power transformer is almost double the size Vs the export Version so for anyone who like that sort of Drive unit........., and ok with 100V ..., those Japaneses domestic version seem better , if u think bigger transformer is better haha  |

Haha Different cartridge for different music... Haha Today I shall make diy cartridge stand... Haha... Many not expensive cartridge sound lovely... I never pay too much for any cartridge... I assume they must be some not so cheap cartridge which sound good from acustoic guitar... To 吹喇叭... Without the need by using different one for different ype of instrument sound... Haha... I explore some extreme setting by using a 3009 s2 improved Using a 180 grams counter weight A heavy headshell at 12 grams Adding 6 gram of weight on top With a goldring legacy mc at about 8 grams,Dynamic Compliance @ 10 Hz15 mm/N The effectiveass of that sme is about 4.7 grams So the the effective mass is now... To be honest with you I never target to set up any turntables, nor do I have any setting kits to help me to measure the distance, A null point, B null point etc....... All I do is just by looking at the pointing direction of the needle from the beginning to end. All by my eyes only and since i have not got good hearing so I am not sure if there is any difference between the beginning to the ending. All I want to know if there is any mistracking or rather obvious distortion. You raised an interesting point. |

| [#29] Cheap turntable appreciation haha There are many tools from vinylengine to download but I never do. The only tool I ever have is this mounting template from the ADC arm. I did a test. I first set up the arm with the Bebz Micro MC Gold mounted on the arm and set the distance with the existing SME cut hole. It has limited tolerance so it is quite fun to set the arm. Using my usual "visual check" mentod I compared the template with my own doing and I found there were 2mm the difference. I will take it!!
