| [#1] Cable choices I'd like to replace my existing RCA and speaker cables to get better tonal balance. My current system is Luxman L509u driving a pair of B&W 805S. The source is Meridian G08 CD player. Most of the cables I am using are inexpensive ones like Audioquest and VDH. However, I feel my system sounds too slow, fat and not transparent enough. Does any c hing have any recommendation for neutral sounding cable that sounds fast and transparent? Currently I am thinking of Nordost, Audience or Siltech but never used them before. Any recommendation will welcome. Thanks!! |

| [#6] Cable choices My thinking is: VDH for numerous reasons. it seldom keep long in the syestem and sold soon..... Audioquest is never my cup of tea: identical base exciting at first but ...... VDH & audioquest user : please forgive me that I seldom use their expensive cable that over 5000.... so, not really fair enough....any high hand please correct me and name some that is really good please. Siltech is good but please go for the upper model. Nordost ＜ i try the SPM and Heimdal both are good that had been keeping it for quiet a long time. The rule: higher model better better sound esp for this brand. tara lab : must be higher model ah. For not expensive cable . I currently like Oyaide , transparent, cardas clear lite ( That is the lower model of clear but not slow gar !) and still audio note is quiet guarantee for the quality ah. Other than that analysis plus is also quiet OK. | [#7] Cable choices Thanks for the the comment. I think it is better to change some cables first as a new speaker brings too much uncertainties to my set up. I don't want to end up changing the amp too for the new speaker eventually! Meanwhile, any c hing has experience with Audience cable and Crystal cables? |

| [#8] Cable choices audience is not a hot item in hongkong review in stereophile give it a high comment. I am using JC Verdier amp and did an audition in the showroom they were all using Audience cable. Experience that time was nice. Guess it is a good choice also. no idea about 2nd market value. ricc |

| [#9] Cable choices Sommer pro series and hifi series cable. Few hundred dollars for interconnect and 1xxx for speaker cable n second hand market. I am using its biwire speaker, interconnect, digital cables. See discussion forum here too. |

| [#10] Cable choices I like to suggest you to try Madison E3e1 speaker cable from the second hand market since it can fix your problem (too slow, fat and not transparent). And if you feel not suitable for you, can can sell it easily. |

| [#14] Cable choices Before you do anything major, better change the speaker cable to very low price belden 8471 to see if this is the direct you like. Reasonable tonal balance should be achieve thru the main component matching. Using strong character cables to achieve this is like trying to sweep problems under carpets. |
