Wonder if W4S Dac2 is a better sound or Weiss DAC 202 is a much better CAS DAC (It is more than double the price of W4S DAC2). See several DAC202 in the used market. Is a new model coming out? |

| [#3] Weiss DAC2 and DAC202 vs Wyred 4 Sound DAC2??? I think you need to think carefully. IMHO CAS cannot reach the level that analogue or sometimes good CDP reach. The only unfair comment i have made here is that good CDP don't do high resolution, but IMHO high res files through 202(Or for that matter other DAC's) is not cracked out to be what we assume they are? CAS is fantastic from many point of view, sonically it will be better in the near future. Till then I remain a skeptical 202 user. Perhaps my system is not uber High End? |

| [#4] Weiss DAC2 and DAC202 vs Wyred 4 Sound DAC2??? I used to have Weiss DAC2 and upgraded to DAC202. Weiss DAC2 is quite good in C/P and good performance. Compare to DAC2, DAC202 excel in every aspect a bit, the extra money you paid did not reward you with doubling the performance. Have an audition and compare them, make your choice. |

It is very naive to correlate W4S with DAC202 even they use the same ESS d/a. decoder chip is not the dominating factor for a dac's quality. |

Since DAC2 not winning Wyred 4 in all aspects, I consider they are in the same class and it is OK for you to choice between Weiss or Wyred. Batmanames04 hing, it is OK if you think Wyred 4 is better than DAC202 as HiFi is a very personal thing. In both my main and 2nd system, Wyred 4 is the same class of Weiss DAC2. When I upgrade from DAC202 to Media+, which DAC chip it use is never a factor I consider, I only care about the sonic performance. |

| [#13] Weiss DAC2 and DAC202 vs Wyred 4 Sound DAC2??? This 6-bit quoted here is probably a misinterpretation of the Sabre chip document, as it doesn’t say at what sampling rate. DSD is 1-bit at sampling rate of 2.8224 MHz, but are we bordered that it is 1bit? Note that Sabre is a delta sigma DAC. |
