高音去盡咗,低音快咗,空間感及音場大咗,所以仲無咁肥,同對後級要求中少啲!如有budget的話, 去盡啲!

我從來唔鍾意b&w,覺得中音濛，低音肥，高音伸廷唔夠
直至最新的D系出現後，對她感覺需重新改寫
一洗以前的缺點之外，重易推左好多
所以小的認為一係唔上，一上就D系啦!
有人會認為她已經唔係b&w的聲音，我都認為係，所以我先鍾意佢!嘻嘻…

I'm also a 805s user for several years. I've auditioned 804s five years ago for a hour. Now, I've auditioned 804d in the dealer for two hours. No doubt, 804d wins 804s in the high.

However, after comparing 804d with other brands such as Marten Design Miles III, Avalon Ascendent II and PMC OBLi, I don't like B&W anymore due to its extension of high and low and especially the slow dynamcis when listening some dynamic music such as Fanfare for common man etc. B&W doesn't reveal the passion of such music and like an old man with some 濛濛濛 and slowness.

Just a personal opinion.

i think it is doubtless 804D is better than 804S

Yet compare to is peers, the major weakness of 8XX series is still the low frequency range, which is lacking quality and resolution.

Therefore my preferrence will be 805D for the smaller listening room, that has relatively gentle bass extension.

In fact, most of overseas magazines only praise 800 & 805 series and seldom mention other 8xx series as an outstanding speaker.

Given 805D's selling price is over 40K, I would prefer to buy a floor stand speaker which can give more bass and relaxing mid by just paying 10 to 20K.

I agree with faimiu that the bass of B&W 804d is lacking quality and resolution and is always 慢半泊 when playing dynamic music as comparing with its peers.
