| [#1] Music First Audio (MFA) Passive Pre-amp Dear all members and audiophile, I am using MFA pre-amps for quite a long while. At present, I have their MK2 copper preamp in my reference audio system and I am fully satisfied with their passive pre product. Do you have any opinion reagrding the choice of cable for passive system? I undertand from MFA that the cable length is not really that matter and they are going to send me some technical explanation. I'll have an opportunity to trial their latest "Baby Reference" pre-amp at home in due course. Will report to share with you later on. |

Have time to join us for fun? --- i've played with passive for a while and really can't be bothered with it now. if i don't want an active preamp, i think it is much better to use an integrated amp than using a passive with a power amp. and i really don't like transformer. it is an necessary evil and don't find it necessary to use it as a volume control. of course as a passive, it is probably better than a resistor based solution. but with that kind of money, i rather spend on a decent power amp. and the sound stage projected with a passive is really not my cup of tea. |

The reason for using 6922 is I happen to have bunch of those laying around & they were dirt cheap. The new line amp is based on 6SN7, which I guess is likely your cup of tea.
