How about vintage tube amp like Dynaco st70, Mark III, Heathkit, Eico etc. They are still affordable and have 膽味 and relatively rigid 2nd hand value (comparing with some mid to high level Chinese tube amp). But should note that they are operated at 110v instead of 220v (so a step down transformer is needed -additional investmnet).

I'm interested in what you mean by driving "wonderfully" even with big orchestral works. I like the sound of LS3/5a (though I don't have). My limited experience from listening other's is that it's hard to drive them to play orchestral works with louder volume. Maybe I am wrong (please advise). However, at lower volume, I do love this pair of sweet speakers.

If don't mind solid state amp, Roksan Kandy MkIII seems unbeatable in price/value ratio.

This amp is dart cheap in UK. A brand new one only costs GBP300 at Ebay.

I used to play a CD (Track 4, 天幻簫音,張維良,雨果唱片) to show my friends how powerful LS-3/5A can be. All of my friends "jump from the chair", no kidding. Of couse the listening area is around 100 sq. feet.

Many people say that LS-3/5A's bass is weak because very few people drive it by extremely powerful (high current) amps as the sound is harsh by common sense.

"High current" means that the capacitors are huge, not the transformer. There are four capacitors in my power amp and the size of each one is more or less like a can of 375ml coke.

I am not a techincal guy but I will try my best to answer your questions:

It doesn't need very big wattage to play big orchestra works . 20Wx2 is more than enough
to make very inefficient speakers, like LS-3/5A, to sound very loud.

Capacitors do not produce power but store power. Large capacitors give an amp more momentary power when driving musical peaks.(i.e. 爆得, but 大聲爆得) That explains why vintage Naim Nait One which is 20W x 2 able to drive very demanding ACT speakers 爆到七彩 but many modern 200Wx2 amps can't do this demanding job nicely.

Unfortunately it is difficult to design high current amps of top quality. Many low-end Hi-Fi manufacturers tend to avoid high-current design when making their gears.
