| [#1] Weiss ATT202 I read from blog that ATT202 uses reed relay to switch resistors instead of switching resistors directly. Then there will be many coils in the amplifier, one coil per step. The coil inductance may affect voice. Is this correct? the how can good sound be made? |

| [#2] Weiss ATT202 AFAIK, the coils you mentioned are used to 'make' or 'break' the contacts for resistor network once it is energised. The signal only pass thru' the resistor network. |

| [#3] Weiss ATT202 Right, the reed has to be continuously energized to maintain contact. Thus always a magnetic field there. A magnetic field may induce unwanted current on reed contacts in which the audio signal is carried. | [#4] Weiss ATT202 Hello ben, yes indeed there are more info it should be needed to explain on this special "Bell Laboratory" design. - The Reed Contacts are not switched with a coil but a permanent magnet moved across the contacts. - A permanent magnet does not induce any current as long as it is not moved. The magnet is only moved from step to step when changing the attenuation. Once it is in a certain position it is not moved anymore and this there isn't any current induced. - This creates a perfect transparent remote controllable magnetic switched passive design. - The output impedance will be matters therefore there are DIP switches to set this value in match with different setup (cables/amplifiers) Hope this is more clear.
