| [#3] BMW E39 ABS light permanently light up soryedison ching, I recall last time when I tested one e39. The owner said he had replaced the ABS pump and showed me the invoice). He explained the ABS light turned on so he brought the car back to BMW for maintenance. Maybe you just bring your car to garage for checking if the pump is worn. |

| [#13] BMW E39 ABS light permanently light up On the wet road press so hard on the pedal.. ABS not working - your wheels lock up and you should hear the sound of the skid on the water - make sure no brick wall in front of you :) ABS 'pulse' pedal feedback tells you it is. The warning light could be ABS fluid pressure, pump about to die etc. Really need a mechanic to inspect the whole system. ...however I did once have a similar type thing with ABS+DSC light come on/off, but it was due to the brake discs being warn so thin that the fail-safe brake sensor was worn/cut which set the light on. |

| [#15] BMW E39 ABS light permanently light up Fault codes from sensors are the symptoms of the problem, not necessarily the root cause. I did once have oxygen sensor fault code saying something exceeded a limit, and indeed the O2 sensor needed replacing (too old). So it depends.. |

| [#17] BMW E39 ABS light permanently light up my friend's one got this ABS light up occasionally problem too, especially during rainly days. Finally, It was an almost wore out cable of a sensor at one of the wheel trigger the night. After replace a new sensor assay, the problem was gone. |

| [#18] BMW E39 ABS light permanently light up Leochan, I tried replace both the L and R wheel ABS sensor, problem still persist. So I search foreign forum about the symptom, and found it is very common and many ppl got rid of the problem by sending it to the modulemaster to rebuild the abs module |
