Would the following be worse than "not signaling lane changes/turns": 1) turns on the hazard lights (or 4-way blinks) before the car stops (taxi and mini-bus drivers love to do this). This is actually confusing and in fact, illegal. If you are preparing to stop, you should signal on the side where you are going to pull over before you stop. Then again, it is very common for taxi and min-bus drivers to just stop cold in the middle of the road without pulling over to one side. Sigh. 2) Signals on the wrong side before making turns. This is quite common for many drivers. For some reasons, some drivers would signal to turn right when they are actually turning left, especially when entering a roundabout (traffic circle). I read somewhere that a so called "expert" suggested this "to signal to the on-coming cars you are entering an intersection/roundabout". For crying out loud, shouldn't a driver have to make sure it is safe before entering an intersection/roundabout instead of "warn and cut" into such places. 3) just signal and immediately change lane disregarding whether it is safe to do so and expect everyone to yield for you. If the headlights of a car can lit up the interior or the car in front of it then the headlights of the car is misaligned. I wonder how many drivers understand headlight alignment. |
