The best workshop by far is 德保捷located in 大圍. Not cheap but very honest and very competent. You will save money in the long run. Believe me. |

| [#7] 買二手porsche去邊間車房驗車好 yy123 Ching, The owner (王生) of 德保捷 used to be a mechanic in Jebsen. He left Jebsen many years ago and started his own workshop and many independents (such as 阿發 of Gembella) used to work for him. My 3.6 Turbo used to have 2 problems (1: ignition problem when the engine is warm ... so I can't start the car when fueling up; 2: the light of the brake system pressure gauge would lit for a long time after ignition indicating brakes may not be ready for use). I spent ＞ $20K at Jebsen and they couldn't fixed it when they said they could (then I complained to Jebsen's General Manager). The I repeated the same mistake of spending $15K at Gembella. Eventually at a modest cost 王生 helped me to fix these issues with detail explanation on why they happened. And since I know a little bit on car mechanics he was also able to explain to me mechanically how these parts work and why they failed and what parts should be replaced. He has been doing M&R on my car for more than 5 years now and it drives better after every visit. He also did a conversion project for my friend (i.e. to convert a 993 C2 to 993 RS) and I have experienced the whole conversion project (took 1 year) so I have seen first hand their competency on building Porsches from scratch. They also do all sorts of cars from your everyday Japanese sedans to limited edition Lambo. Before I got to know 德保捷 I spent 1.5 yr with Gembella. When 阿發 was an apprentice, he only specialized in body works so his strength isn't on mechanical repairs. His working style is "to get your car out of the door asap" so many times the fixes aren't permanent. I can't recall how many times I have to return my car to him after all problems were supposed to be fixed. And since he is the dealer of Gembella, his focus is to sell upgrades and conversions because he could earn a lot more on these than doing repairs. 德保捷's address is 大圍成運路21-23號群力工業大廈地下6室. Tel: 26060792, 26981189. 林小姐is the assistant there. Remember they are not cheap and also the turnaround time is long. But they are very dependable when is very important for Porsche owners! |

| [#14] 買二手porsche去邊間車房驗車好 I haven't dealt with 火炭嘅江X but since I have heard quite a number of stories I have decided to stay with what I know. Since I don't have any personal experience with him so I shouldn't share the details here. Just want to be fair. I would say Jebsen would be ok for servicing water-cooled 996 997 as most mechanics only joined/learned how to fix these cars when these cars were released. As for as air-cooled is concerned, my wasted money with them have proven they don't know what they are doing most of the time. Modern cars come in "modules", meaning you don't need to know how to 'fix" things. All you need to know is to plug into a laptop and do a diagnostics and scan the fault codes and see which part has problem. What follow is just replacement, not fixing parts! So it takes different skills in dealing with old vs. new cars. |

And I have seen they do a restoration project for a yellow 928 as well. That 928 has some very outrageous fender works too! |
