Dear all C hing, As wife want to buy a car, recently check with some japanese car (at car show) like corolla, the price is close to 200k...so may think about some european car...just check on website...seems 08-09 bmw 3 series is about 200K (ie:http://www.28car.com/sell_dsp.php?h_vid=172870290&h_vw=y)...is that a good deal?? or any other suggestion...thanks!! BTW, wish all c hing have a very good 2013. |

| [#3] 2nd hand BMW concern... BMW 3 series is a good car. Most important is how the previous owner handle and maintain the car. BMW is always fun to drive while japanese car ( except the high end one like GTR etc..) is value to have. |

| [#8] 2nd hand BMW concern... Alpha hing, You should not think about "reasonable price" for second hand car. Most important is the condition of the car, so if the owner allow you to try and have the car tested, then you can think about what price you should offer. When I bought my M3, market price range from 330-380K, but after seeing one, tested it and have my menchanic check it, I offer 420K ( owner ask for 450k). I never regret paying this since for the continous 4 years, very little maintenance job. Even until now, there is work needed to carry out but mostly because of aged parts. |

| [#10] 2nd hand BMW concern... For second hand car, better to let a mechanic to check the engine and transmission. You should always be ready to have a budget for replacing aged part like.. bushing, belt, brake pad, etc.. Frankly, my 02 M3 so far so good, it did have some service but really not a big deal. |
