| [#1] Brother, I want to share a recent incident regarding trying to catch a taxi to NT/Kowloon from the "taxi stand" outside Times Square, Causeway Bay. There are two Taxi stands, one 'normal', and one "Kowloon Taxi Stand" outside Times Square Because there is long queue and no taxi at the "Kowloon Taxi Stand", I decide to go to "normal taxi stand" and pay the extra return tunnel fee. The taxi driver refuse to go and said I should go to the "Kowloon taxi stand". I said he cannot ask me to do that because I am willing to pay the return tunnel fee. He said this is not a "normal taxi stand" but a "HK only Taxi" stand and so he can refuse to go to Kowloon side. I refused and called the police. The police came and indeed said that the taxi stand outside Times Square is "HK Only". I said that I have lived in HK 15 years and have never heard of "HK only" taxi stand, but because the police say this, I did not argue anymore. After this, I ask all my friends and never has anyone heard of "HK only" taxi stand. Can any brother share any knowledge/experience? If I am correct, I will consider making complaint to police.... I have called the transport department hotline, they confirm that there is no such thing as "HK only taxi stand" but hearing my case they said they best check if in the same street there is "normal" and "Kowloon" taxi stand, can the taxi at the "normal" taxi stand refuse to go to Kowloon/NT. 最後修改時間: 2013-09-10 10:53:48 |
