I have never driven a BMW except 10 mins with a E30, I drive an Audi, so my choice is the S4. purely becuase of the look. In terms of style, we have no big preference as both are very "brand name generic" style running all over the city, especially the Audi. I do like the better choice of colors offered by BMW. All we want is smaller car with bigger cargo space. Of course, I want a sportier one as it will be driven mainly by me with the wife driving the kid around a couple of days in a week. |

| [#14] BMW 3 vs Audi 4, what is your choice? I am also comparing a F30 335i M Sport with an Audi S4 (face-lifted version). I test drove the 335i sport-line but was not able to try the S4 yet. I was only allow a "visual tour" of a S4 so I cannot tell the ride quality of the new S4. The good news is the new S4 allows the option of Audi Select + electronic damper regulation + sports differential - which will make the car one level up the previous S4 in terms of agility and sportiness. The M Sport package is very good value in my opinion. Feature set of the new F30 335i M Sport is better than the S4 in my opinion, and they are competitively priced: F30 335i M Sport : HK$819,000 S4 with Drive Select+Sports Differential + electronic damper control : HK$815,000 I have done a lot of research over the past 2 weeks and have prepared a 14 page document just for this purpose. Still not decided yet. 335i M Sport will start production in August 2012. Earliest delivery is Oct 2012. S4 will have a longer lead time. Which means you will most likely get the car in Dec 2012 or early 2013. I have done a lot of research over the past 2 weeks and would be happy to post some of my opinions later. |

| [#15] BMW 3 vs Audi 4, what is your choice? I should add that I have owned 4 Audi cars, all purchased new. So I have a pretty good idea of the Audi handling in general. I also drive a customized (i.e. Audi Exclusive) version of S4 Avant in 2011 in Europe. That was an amazing experience. |

(unless they updated the price list again) One thing about F30 3尻 is that options seem to be kept to just a few (all roung monitor, widescreen sat nav)... At least that's the case with saloon version But in any case, still tough choice, becuz an apple and orange are being compared... Although personally, would cling to S4a more (as long as Sport Diff option is there) |

Price: HK$23,000 + tax. The latest S4 HK Spec has also changed to Stainless Stain + Piano Black inlay. Previous spec was Aluminum inlay. Carbon Atlas is not offered (still chasing the sales). The S-Sport Seat of the S4 (included in base price) is very very nice looking. Best of class. For BMW, you can check with the sales about options that are not on the price list. I inquired about the M Sport package which was not yet publicized and get the following : • M-Sport Aerodynamic package • M-Sport steering wheel • 18” M-Sport light alloy wheels double spoke 400M with run flat tyres. 8Jx18 225/45R18 front, 8.5Jx18 255/40R18 Rear • Door sill in aluminium M-lettering • Customised M Sport car key • M-Sport “blue” brake callipers & larger brake disc with M logo • Exclusive Estoril Blue II metallic paint (no extra cost) • Individual headliner in anthracite • Individual high gross shadow line M Sport Suspension in already include in the base package of F30 Sport Line (HK$771,000). M Adaptive Suspension is a stand alone option and will cost $13,400 + tax. I am not too sure about this as future maintenance and reliability may be an issue. | [#19] BMW 3 vs Audi 4, what is your choice? first of all..80K plus 335 Vs 330i -- worth all the penny..from performance / fuel economy / the joy of toque and better option from past experience, all 3 series handle better than 4 series with or without quattero from past experience, 4 series with quattero are so much safer at all road condition i suppose it is a matter of taste for the outlook and a matter of u want a bit more driving pleasure or passive safety i shall avoid all adaptive type of suspension, but ok for audi..as it is 5 yrs warranty , they bound to go wrong...and costy to replace (not repaire) ha ha BMW side... look so nice..and less boring ..haha outlook is alwways subjective beyond warranty..BMW is much cheaper to be fixed..as parts / for both oem or after market is cheaper, and from last few generation...BMW is easier to be fixed..ask those garage...they will tell u.. 最後修改時間: 2012-06-06 13:13:58 |

It is interesting to note that Car & Driver, Automobile, and Motor Trend all rated the 2010 S4 (with sports differential) better than the out going version of BMW 335. With Sports Differential, the S4 is matching the BMW in terms of driving agility and limit. By the way, both Audi and BMW in Hong Kong only offers 2 years warranty, and in this connection - I agree adaptive suspension can be a maintenance nightmare. Plus for 2010 S4 (B8) compared to BMW F30 335i - more power 333hp vs 306hp - higher max torque 440Nm vs 400Nm - playful 7-speed DSG, nice downshifting - better internal fit and finish, classy interior design - much better quality S-Sport seats (with lumbar support) - 3.0 supercharged engine was 2011 Best Engine of the World - all weather ability (with newest generation of quattro (with crown gear center differential) - better air conditioning system (Delux 3 zone with air quality control, whereas BMW offers 2 zone system only) - more spacious (car is 4 inches longer than 335i) - apparently better B&O sound quality than the Harmon Kardon on the BMW (the Harmon Kardon system is more powerful at 600W) Plus for BMW F30 335i compared to S4 (B8) - low end torque - max torque starts at 1,200 rpm - legendary inline 6 engine growl - better sounding - classical 3.0 N55 engine ("The" benchmark) - legendary handling and fun - hallmark of BMW - lighter car (185kg less than S4, also 51:49 weight distribution - better fuel economy with new 8 speed automatic - sport seats with adjustable lateral support (not available on Audi) - rear view camera comes standard - Driving Experience Control comes standard and allows some customization. (Audi standard Drive Select (option) cannot be customized unless ordered in conjunction with the very expensive MMI Navigation Plus system) On the other hand, the F30 335i is total new model so it should hold its value better than the S4 (which is essentially a 2010 model).
