[#14] Who drives this car?
seambeer hing, believe you are an experience driver, also agree that sometimes people make mistakes. However, natural disastor is unavoidable, but most accident is caused by human faults. There are too many careless drivers on the road, they aren't just careless, they are irresponsible selfish dumbass, bad driving attitudes, bad habbits.

Many people think that posting this kind of video on youtube is meaningless, but I support everyone who caught those bad ass on tape, post them all on youtube, hoping their family, their friends, their colleagues....etc recognize his/her car and realize he/she drive so badly on the road, will make the driver change his/her driving attitudes.

agree. i don't mind ppl rushing pass and going real fast as long as they know what they are doing.

dumbass is the perfect word ! these drivers are everwhere in Hong Kong, they do dangerous moves for no reason. no benefit to anyone...

I really feel the difference when I drove in Japan and downunder, ppl are more polite and 'resonable'.

>>>Many I knew who learn to drive in HK had no concept of defensive driving, 2 seconds rule, right of way etc.

Yes, these valuable concepts can only be learnt from high priced "elite driving course" in hksm.

x2..The driving attitude in HK is quite similar to that in PRC and Taiwan. Is this related to Chinese's personal character. I hope not la......

"The driving attitude in HK is quite similar to that in PRC and Taiwan"
-------------------------------
I have no idea how Taiwanese drive but I think I can say something about PRC drivers, I myself drive in Shanghai for last 5 years and I still commute HK/Shenzhen several times a week now (with driver). If compare to PRC drivers, this PW2877 Jazz driver is just a kindergarten lousy driver !
However, PRC is PRC, HK is HK, in PRC, although you drive crazy, but every other drivers on the road are "well prepared" for crazy drivers crazy action, regardless you signal them or not, they already expect every car passing by or parallel to them will at the end cut in front of them. No matter you agree or not, this "well prepare", "expected" mindset, meant all drivers are more alert. Touch wood, I have never came across any accident in PRC all these years, bless me!!!
Last but not least, this habit cannot be applied in HK becoz drivers here in HK are not prepare for that, they are not well train for that, and it kills people !!!

Concept such as "2 sec rule" and basic defensive driving techniques such as not driving in the blind spot of another car are very basic knowledge that should be taught by all responsible driving instructors. Knowledge such as "right of way" , "drive on the left" and "pass the right" are actually traffic laws any driver should know. Driving instructors not knowing these or not teaching these are basically putting a lethal weapon (a car) in the hands of their student without telling them how to use it properly. I guess accidents such as "car going out of control" and "flipped over" type of accidents were so common in HK was a result of the poor quality of driving instructions here.

Its no surprise seeing that...I found many taxis do the same !!!!!make you feel that they have priority over other road users because they drive for LIVING while others drive for fun!!!!!

oh last sunday a white Audi TT convertible cut sharply in front of me too, although she did signal but was during the process.

She didn't seem to understand why she had to signal. Her signaling was an afterthought, most likely only after she saw your car as she changing lane.

olddude is correct...

Too often the lane cutters think that because they have signaled it means they have right-of-way or that they think if there is an accident then they can claim that they did signal and it is the other driver's fault for not seeing.

Are the driving school's now like the Tutorial School, teach you just enough to pass but not use your brain to think?

Everyone no whatever experience makes mistake, I'm sure most people would react to the sound of horn by aborting the action and taking evasive action to correct their mistake. I observe those that:
(1) Continue with the action - no idea what is going on...
(2) Force their way i.e. like those who drive to "LIVE"

I am interested in what reply #3 'cow' is thinking...

As for excusing mistakes because a driver is new...What if a new PC aiming at an attacker shoots an innocent bystander? What if a new pilot crashes in wet weather? What if a new bus driver fails to stop in time?

I think the reason for the signal is the driver fell shameful so did it as an after-thought apology.

I guess we should add 'car self crash protection' system like the planes on the news yesterday.

Its not too easy to get yourself killed but it could also be very easy.

look the trains.....i hope MTR has earn enough money and have some spare for mainteance...otherwise.....

don't ask our govenrment, they alreay spent all their time replying stupid requests about the 'blue sky'

PLAY HARD, and worry nothing, that makes me feel better!
