[#3] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 No surprise, I read the magazine still give the 2011 best sedan to E90 3 series where C250 and Audi A4 just facelift last / this year. Volvo is good car too. Merc and Audi is better car because of the brand value, not the car itself. I also find Jaguar XF is good to drive too. |

[#4] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 I used to drive both Volvo S40 2.4i as well as S60, which is excellent. Matter of fact the new S60 T6 I test drove and almost brought. Only issue is weight of the car and very thirsty 3.0 powertrain that changed my mind. Not all Volvo is good, but S40 & S60 is the best models. |

[#5] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 The Merc and Audi platforms are getting old. Expect them to play catch up and close the gap to BMW in a year or two. |

[#6] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 I think the comparison remarks is a bit exaggerating. Going through the text the differences are not that drastic - far from it. Sure, the new 328i has a more power engine compared to the A4, but it is a matter of mapping and tuning and the fact the 328i's has a newer engine and it is "only" 245hp compared to the more powerful variants of the 2.0 TFSI engine from the VW's camp. The test Audi uses an automatic ( multitronic ?) which is definitely definitely not as good as the 8-speed automatic of the BMW. But the Audi will feel very different with a 7-speed DSG. There are a lot of subjective taste-oriented comments in the comparison. The Audi as tested has already been replaced by an face-lifted version, with will have improve steering, start-stop... etc. The quattro was not given much merit in the comparison either. In wet conditions I tend to think the ranking will be more difficult. The comparison with MB this is also a bit biased. The 328i should be better, given it is new and blessed with the legendary handling DNA. But the ranking is now land sliding - far from it. |

[#7] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 Fkcolo, I understand your point. My personnel opinion is deviation mainly arise from BMW underating 328i powertrain numbers, The real numbers turns out to be at lease 20-30 hp above the official 240 hp data http://www.worldcarfans.com/112021541193/bmw-328i-engine-more-powerful-than-bmw-says---dyno-results "Using an EAS (European Auto Source) Dynojet 224xLC, the 328i produced 226 hp (169 kW) and 230 lb-ft (312 Nm) torque measured at the wheels with 91 octane gasoline. This equates to a crankshaft horsepower rating of approximately 265-272 hp (198-203 kW) / 270-277 lb-ft (366-376 Nm) torque - an increase of 25-32hp (19-24 kW) and 15-22lb-ft (20-30) over the official figures. This calculation assumes a 15-17% drivetrain loss" |

[#8] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 Recently I have the chance driving the newest F30 328i and it's superb among its class. Better handling and sportier than both Audi A4 and MB C class. However, C class offer a better ride and passenger comfort though :) 最後修改時間: 2012-03-07 22:10:11 |

[#11] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 I had a test ride for the new 328 last week, it is a very fast car! Transmission is very smooth doesnt feel turbo lag at all and better than the Audi and MB. The sport version interior and sport seat is very good, the best driving seat in the class ! The rear seat legroom is also the best in the class too which comparable to 5 series. Fun to drive, can switch to sport, comfort and Eco mode which change the response on gas and suspension damping. Few downsides are: no tax deduction from the government, road noise from the bottom is higher than Audi and MB, the engine sound not as powerful as the straight 6! Sport version is around 550k, standard is around 490k. |

[#12] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 Yes Jaxx C Hing, it's exactly as your description !! P.S : Just one minor complement. The standard car is not equipped with variable damping suspension. The one you tested has the standard "Active anti-roll bar" instead. The "Active dampers" is an option which cost another $30k, tax included :) 最後修改時間: 2012-03-08 10:30:08 |

[#13] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 Agreed that Merc probably more comfortable due to softer suspension. However, I do understand F30 Luxury line are suspose to address this issue. I don't think they have it in Hong Kong yet for test driving. It has the same performance and yet more comfortable ride comparing to "Sport Line" |

[#14] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 "...road noise from the bottom is higher than Audi and MB" Throw away the run-flat tyre after run-in and get the BMW tyre repair kit just in case |

[#15] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 Throw away the run-flat tyre after run-in and get the BMW tyre repair kit just in case -------------------------------- Isn't the suspension tuned for run-flat tyres? |

[#16] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 "Isn't the suspension tuned for run-flat tyres?" No, I don't think so. Due to hard side wall of the run-flat, the ride is harsh and they're noisy as hell with so-so performance. Many BMW in the States change it right away or switch to normal tyre when the tyres are due and they're informed of the price |

[#17] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 Thanks for your correction, sim city hing! Change the runflat tyre is a must for better noise control and road grip! But the 5 series is much quiet! Or I am getting old! 最後修改時間: 2012-03-08 21:33:22 |

[#18] BMW 328i Comparison Test March 2012 Yes, I am also bimmer user. Run Flat Tyres is durable, but higher road noise and less sticky to the road surface compared with normal tire. One time, I visited the tyre shop which is handled by my friend. He suggested me to replace the Run Flat Tyres by normal tyres. C Hing, where to buy the BMW Tyre Repair Kit ? how much ? please advise. Thanks |
