[#1] Another pathetic experience at Mini HK Dunno if I'm just unlucky, or the sales was just toying with me or whatever. But it's really BAD. Recently visited M-HK's showroom and requested some info. Sales was already not very friendly and was kind of playing with his fingers. They have one thick catalogue (their dealer copy) on the rack next to the vehicle(s) but the sales was reluctant to give me one of those. Instead he handed me the usual thin brochure with some price lists, and here's the problem. How come he handed me a brochure in DUTCH language!?? Does he expect me NOT to read the text and instead just stick to the pics?? WTF!!! So the question is, does Sime Darby even know how to source materials like product literature, properly, in default English language??? Shame on you, punks & galz at Mini HK!! More evidence to follow soon. |

[#6] Another pathetic experience at Mini HK @seanbeer Forgot when, but yes, previous M-HK experiences were not great either Have indeed met one or two good and courteous sales long ago, but that's now probably history since car sales shift from company to company all the times Had even worse times at BMW many years ago, again being denied catalogues (even if another pair of visitors got them) When they ask you to leave your mailing address, don't believe that for a moment -- very likely they won't do anything That's what I exactly encountered during the BMW fiasco Had to bypass Sime Darby and complained directly to BMW AG, which they took it quite seriously Unfortunately, things have not improved much over the years Especially at M shorm in TW where some punk in suits is present... beware @vt75 Of course la... You walk in, look at your desired vehicles and ask for corresponding literature etc., that's standard procedure Except that in HK, it has been a tradition many sales were not very willing to give out original thick catalogues Some brands eg. Honda don't even have original catalogues anymore for so many years |

[#13] Another pathetic experience at Mini HK Anon99, did you show to those sales that you did have intention to buy or just walk in and ask for a big brouchure every time? To be honest, there are really big sales guys but good guys are still here. I have never been rejected for test drives nor brouchures, no matter if I was looking at a low end Toyota, Nissan 7 seaters, BMW, MB, to AMG, to Lamborghini and Ferrari even though I just walked in and the sales guy there didn't know me before, and I didn't wear golden watch with diamonds, but just T shirts and Jeans! 最後修改時間: 2012-08-17 19:09:23 |

[#14] Another pathetic experience at Mini HK @jacky35 No you don't just merely walk in and ask for literature without doing anything (we're not kids anymore)... You are expected to act enthused, express interest to the sales and then ask for additional info... that's standard drill I was doing just that but I guess I was unlucky and got labelled by the sales all the times... maybe I didn't have good clothes to wear and look like a punk or whatever Does that mean I need cosmetic surgery just to look better and convincing?? Instant intention to purchase? Gimme a break, if you don't even get acquainted with the vehicle how can you even decide!?? Investigate and get more info, that's standard procedure when visiting car showrooms EVERYWHERE Don't say why you didn't get rejected blah blah blah. In fact you are a popular customer among such community Don't deny it -- You are an established person with good wealth, good credit, and good history of vehicle ownership, no wonder sales like ppl like you so that you can "feed" them commissions in the future No "golden watch with diamonds, but just T shirts and Jeans" eh? No problem, it's all psychological warfare and you need to "defeat" those goons first, which you apparently did... Some people were not that lucky, they wore pretty much the same outfit and got dissed by sales, only to find that those customers were FOR REAL and such customers had to toss them the cash to prove it Do remember that not many people here have the kind of status you have, but that doesn't mean such people should be ridiculed by those ruthless sales with zero conscience At least, I know how to recognise between DUTCH and English...... |

[#16] Another pathetic experience at Mini HK Anon99 Hing, Haha, you are wrong. I am not lee Ka Shing and most salesman here do not know me at all. May be just a few guys I used to trade with know me better. I had even walked into No. 1 car show and talked with a sales guy who did not know me at all. He even unlocked his $ 5 mil plus brand new Lambo open top for me to try.... I seldom dressed as a rich guy (and I don't put me into the rich guys' pool), but luckily I received good service some 70 to 80% for the past years. |

[#17] Another pathetic experience at Mini HK Anon 99 hing, No offence but I do believe you yourself may have an attitude problem. jacky35 hing is trying to be nice and do not deserve any of your comments. Also, I remember you are trying very hard in another thread to get some other member's help to get into a launch event. For myself, I also never got rejected from BMW, Maserati, Porsche and all other more economical brands. And why are you always going out to ask for brochure where you can find all the information from the web? Those brochures are not cheap and cost the dealer hundreds of $ to produce one. So, if they sense you are not serious, why should they give you one. |

[#18] Another pathetic experience at Mini HK @ship310 Stay on topic please. This thread is not about discusson of attitude problem or whatever It's primarily an account of being mistreated by providing inappropriate material Honestly, having to live with inferior materials (eg. brochure instad of catalog) is inevitable, but why DUTCH material?? If someone hands you material which you cannot even understand, what would you think of that person? Let alone a sales... (Here, I suspect that P was actually toying with me) That contributes to adding insult to injury I know not giving original literature is a typical "culture" in HK car sales environment and that sales like to label people. Ths same can still happen in other countries but from personal experience, that has a much lower occurance So why do you want people to resort to online material? Consumer web sites often don't provide with all info in full. (Press material is even more harder to reach) Sometimes having hard copy material for reference is more convenient than any web options OTOH, trying hard or desperate to get help is nothing wrong. Gaining trust (or sympathy) is another story I did NOT really want to ask help here, but seeing that I have no other contacts or options, I've gotta give it a try (even if that means I'm losing face)... Is that unethical too? I happen to do this all the times in real life, not just... and I get the witness the many (-ve) attitudes and demeanors of people from many walks of life Also, are you trying to imply that, I don't deserve good material simply because I'm not fit for that, or I don't belong a certain elite niche? What kind of logic is that? Why should I be instructed to resort to inferior, secondary material etc.? Why is it that I should not deserve the rights and treatment of a potential customer -- or human -- too?? The other thing, no one was accusing jacky or whatever, let alone myself But your tone sounds like I was trying to rebutt him... that's not the case here 最後修改時間: 2012-08-20 16:41:23 |

[#20] Another pathetic experience at Mini HK i once walked into the wanchai mini showroom (is it still there?) many years ago in a hot summer day. the showroom had 1 car on display despite the spacious floor area with the salesman and saleslady (only 2 persons inside) sat by their desks up on a platform minding their own business and pretty much ignored me... i don't think they even looked when i entered... so I walked in the fully air-conditioned showroom casually, did a 360 around the car, collected the literature on my own and left... after that i decided i won't spend my $$ in buying a new mini... maybe a used one if i have some extra cash for fun... imho i would rather buy a bmw 118i rather than a new mini which is just a bmw in different skin... just my 2 cents... |
