Besides yours is already a 前中期/中期 facelift Also, jumping on the bandwagon just to maintain certain status, is not a good thing "Great value for the money!??" Yeah right, for a barebones vehicle... Just look at the options list and get the truth @mcclane05 More expensive... and NO headlamp washer anymore? Very ironic so to speak The only reason IMO to try the faceflited E is to experience the new 2L turbo on the E250/200... It's the bread and butter for Mercedes Benz and they will not and could not allow any error out of this particular model. The fact is they could only make it more and more desirable with each new generation and facelift model. Of course it will not suit everyone's taste, but the sales figure alone tells you everything. But not everybody agrees on the revised front grille (esp. AV sport design) sans headlamp washer, it remains to be seen how the mass crowd would critique it in the long run I do nevertheless know people out there who often use the E -- even a barebone-spec "shell" -- as an excuse to show off some wealth and status which is what I really dislike and don't want to see... An economical E? Oxymoron to me!! If I were to get one, I would need that to be very well equipped. If I couldn't afford that, or if I found the total way off my intended budget, I'd simply let it go and find something else...... BTW how did you know 100+ Es have been sold last week? You're an insider, or some insider fed you info? Sales figures don't always tell the whole story but merely indicate how cunning the ZF sales are in securing sales contracts to a maximum level -- using whatever means possible. It's like a report card or something... to show off a company's teamwork. For instance, how effectual they are, how scary they are,...... But how about after-sales CS?? Honestly, among the past E owners, how many have had all-positive experience? Not all of them I'm sure, and for those who indeed got lemons, do you think a sales would be able to retain them so that their next vehicle will be another MB?? |

Some like it and some don't, and it's up to the outside masses to decide And yes I too would settle with a good E, but only if I deemed it satisfactory after testing, and that I got dealt with a good and reaasonable sales... without priors, that is Nah, never mind... Very comfortable in steady speed on highway too. 2.A little bit clumsy in handling on hill side road due to longer wheelbase, especially tight corners. And keep reminding you this is a "big" vehicle. 3.Slightly loose in body control on uneven roads (for models without electronic dampers) 4.Precise steering and adequate weighting, but without enough feedback from the road and slightly artificial. 5.8 speed automatic is immaculate and well judged. You rarely need to use the +/- mode. Current E class: 1.It feels slightly more agile and smaller in size on the road. 2.Suspension setup is softer and hence much better ride comfort for passengers, especially for long journey on uneven roads. 3.Gearbox response is a bit slow and 7speed auto is not that refined by comparison. And the gearshift on the steering column is not that user friendly. 4. More body roll but well contained. Overall: 1. Both are FR setup and they really excel as executive sedans. You don't have much choices on the market, namely 5series, A6, Eclass and Lexus GS. Each has its own strength and shortcomings. 2. I think they aim for different buyers. For E class, the response from the gearbox, steering and throttle are all slower. But this may be a plus point for mature drivers. Also road manner is more calm and feels more natural provided you don't push it to the limit. 3. 5 series feels slightly more sportier and suit more committed drivers. However, it is more artificial. Overall response is quicker but for uneven road with larger rims(18 inch or larger), the ride may suffer. I may be wrong though As to your view, again, you can deem or profusely refuse to anything, in particular, as you said, you only need a floor shift auto with rear camera. So I am certain that merc is not targeting you as a customer, potential or otherwise. Most upmarket merc sedans are not using floor shift anymore. Since you are only after a floor shift with rear camera, please seriously consider any car, the more economical or cheaper may be the better, and get to MK to purchase a set of rear camera and stuck it up the rear....of your car. That will serve your purpose Also I am not standing by simcity. I have no reason to do so. Its just that you disagree for the sake of disagreeing and without valid basis. I dont agree with your view obviously as you view is hollow and groundless. while you can keep putting forward your accusations, remember, Merc wont give a damn.
