Distance of drain centre to back wall. Similar for Toto and Kohler. Years ago, my Eljer toilet had leakage at bottom and inlet pipe, I took it out for complete refurbishment. | [#44] 馬桶經驗 Bemis, made of bakelite. Around $120 each, made in USA. Don't pay more. Bought 2 for replacement, fits American standard toilet.(oval shape, centre to centre mounting, adjustable, but limited choice of color,not perfect match with existing toilet color) Cheap Chinese one is of similar price level. I bought metal hinges from Taobao for re-using old toilet seat but eventually dumped, all plastic parts aged. So, having replacement. Why vertical drain pipe, may be higher head for flow of faeces, also common in the States? Horizontal one is only saving work and drain won't pass through lower premises. Many premises objected to changing to sea water for flushing. My viewpoint is saving potable(drinking) water since water is rationing on a Worldwide basis.(not exactly fresh water from well/river, two different things) Any experience even when PVC pipes used throughout? Besides, check for inlet/flushing water mechanism which can cost you a fortune for genuine parts.
