| [#23] 請教大廈供水問題 I worked on HV pumpsets of 2.5MW (not kW) and up to 11 kV. Such voltage can ignite a person. Fortunately, I am still alive. The building pumpset is smaller than village supply pumphouse, say 11kW, 380V. Besides 1 bar=10m water. If you want to have static head of 2 bar. You have to build a tank of 20m high. | [#21] 請教大廈供水問題 If suction tank is fitted, it cannot provide sufficient head for the pumps' NPSH, hence cavitation. Even worse. Direct feed and booster pump is more simple. The tank is in fact WSD service reservoir with residual pressure of say 2 bar. Only guarantee on fresh water but not salt water. | [#20] 請教大廈供水問題 Item 1 is correct. Individual premises having toilet tank with inlet control valve, chance of overflow is low. In fact, should incorporate an overflow pipe to toilet. Is there such underground tank or simply direct feed? Rooftop tank is almost a must. Item 5 As mentioned, everything is automatic for short duration of outage. But not a major repair of a few days, should start up the system slowly. Otherwise, pump or other devices may trip so still need a c-fu. | [#19] 請教大廈供水問題 唔立即供返咸水, 有幾個好處 1, 剛剛恢復供的咸水, 什質一定多好多, 一般大廈都唔會隔到/真到各住宅. 2, 如果重新開水時間在平日日間, 好多單位冇人, 有乜事浸咗成家屋出走廊先有人知, 所以5、6點或星期六、日開返安全啲. 3, 如果大範圍倍水, 比其他樓用咗開頭咸水, 後面果啲會會千靜的. 4, 地下水缸低水位自動會停, 水泵正常係唔會入氣 5, 開水其實都係着返個水泵, 一般保安頭都識點做 |

| [#15] 請教大廈供水問題 The use of pvc pipe is anti corrosion, basically same pressure for fresh water and salt water fed from individual rooftop tanks. Gravity fed. Even supply mains can now be plastic piping(PE,xlpe or similar) with heat welding at joints. A must in N.America to avoid bursting due to freezing. For large pumpset, there is motorized valve at delivery side(high pressure) to reduce loading during starting. It's still a good practice to start the pump with manual valve closed, then open it slowly to prime up the delivery mains, after long duration shutdown. Besides, in WSD, for power failure of major plant, we would provide standby team to make sure that the pumpsets would start up smoothly upon electricity supply restoration.
