Hailed by the Saxon Newspaper for her “pure tone, natural approach and perfectly crafted pronunciation that captured the audience”, Alison was the winner of the “Gerhart Hauptmann-Theater” Special Prize at the 22nd Concorso Internazionale per Cantanti Lirici Spazio Musica in Orvieto, Italy, the First Prize at Yokohama International Music Competition in Japan, and the Outstanding Performance Award at the Metropolitan International Music Festival Vocal Competition in New York. In December 2017, she was awarded the Certificate of Commendation by the Hong Kong Government’s Home Affairs Bureau. Highlights of Alison’s 2018/19 season include her début at the Berlin Philharmonie and the Hamburg Laeiszhalle in December 2018 with the Spanish baroque orchestra Al Ayre Español, led by Eduardo Banzo López. In January 2019, Alison performed to a full house at her song recital in Hong Kong City Hall. Other highlights include Bach’s Mass in B minor and Vivaldi’s Gloria under the baton of Jonathan Cohen, role début as Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni presented by Opera Hong Kong. Alison’s first album “My Voice & I” under Universal Music Hong Kong was released in July 2018 to critical acclaim. An avid concert singer with a special interest for art songs and the baroque repertoire, Alison is equally on demand across the recital, concert and opera stages. Her performance as Helena in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream was acclaimed by Time Out Magazine “with great promise dramatically and vocally”. She has performed with Opera Hong Kong, Music Lab, Die Konzertisten, SingFest, Hong Kong Bach Choir and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Alison received her master’s degree from New England Conservatory of Music, Boston in 2015, after completing her bachelor’s degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2013.
